needs a blue saddle and handlebars i reckon, that brooks just looks gash. (beauty is in the eye of the beholder though)0

Nick, I do not know if it has already been mentioned but please please please spray the bars! Any colour but silver!
Love the job on the brake mount by the way, maybe consider a double disk in the future?Road Bike; http://www.bikeradar.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12727419

they will be taped up "roadie" style with brown leather bar tape."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

That sounds really good and it will match the brooks saddle nicely,
I dont know how you finish the wrap with leather tape. Ill be interested too see.
Im dont mean to be a know it all but you should know that with the regular bar tape Its a case of a few rounds of leccy tape on the bar tape, but folk often think the electrical tape needs to be half on the bars too. Actually the bar tape is designed to be wrapped so tightly around the bars that it will not slip anywhere and the electrical tape is just to stop the bar tape from un-ravelling. Its a mistake people make a lot and I would hate to see you get it wrong on this bike.
I have some lovely Fizik stitched suede tape on my road bike.Road Bike; http://www.bikeradar.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12727419

not too disgraceful that. 8)
have you test ridden it for it's intended purpose yet? is it a true pub bike where it rides so much better the more alcohol you've got inside you?0 -
not yet only bled the brake today and it is still at the shop.
waiting for the Brooks bar tape from CRC."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown0 -
and i guess that is because you have never sat on one?
anyway through some bar tape on for some temp grips and went out for a pootle.
will be doing the pub run in a moment."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown0 -
I fecking love that.
I have absolutely no use whatsoever for a bike like that , but I really want one.0 -
I hate the way the colour changes.
I hope i have the correct colour bar tape coming."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown0 -

That looks really nice. Love the clean lines. Any ideas yet what you're going to bolt onto the fork? Also, if you're leaving that bolt there on it's own, put a Ti one in there or get an alloy one annodised the same colour as the rims/pedals.0

an amazing experiment that has gone very well, it looks great!0
-
lovely bike, if ya want to build me one too id be well happy.look at the time0
-
i recon you should get one of those old police car spot lights they used to operate out of the window for that bolt hole!! might ruin the look of the bike though! but would look Sooo cool!!Timmo.

Suffering from the light bike fat git syndrome.0 -
I thought i had ordered the wrong colour tape.
but it should age.
"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I still reckon a black brooks would have looked better.0
-
there should be no chance of anyone nicking that0
-
Are those road or 26" tyres Nicklous? I will be needing some proper mud guards for my SS commuter soon for autumn/winter.0
-
road.
sks guards."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown0 -
Damn, I need some cheap ones for 26" wheels.
I do really like the simplistic look of SS/Fixie bikes.0 -
An absolute work of art. 8)
The Brooks saddle is an inspired choice. I'm very envious.Life's good
Boardman MTB Team0 -
I have got to do something similar, absolutely inspiring project.0
-
well a year on.
what has changed.
well I have bent 2 bars.
both times on the NON drilled side. normally due to me putting to much force on that side when getting started after a night out.
Likewise got fed up with re-taping the bars.
and changed the front Qr to nutted as i will be fitting some magnet powered lights."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
