I enjoyed last nights ride, but aching this morning, got a footy game this afternoon also, so not looking forward to it.

Had a look at the Freeride section last night, although i'm gutted the Corkscrew has gone, there are large berms at the bottom which look like they'd be good fun.

Just wish they could have left the corkscrew, and just added these extra bits. The top section is abit flat now,

Just got back from a ride with LarJones, very different ride from the norm, I'm cut from head to toe from brambles and stingy nettles some brilliant single track ridden around Rudry/Caerphilly way. Lar turned out to be another whippet on an aggressive HT (another proper fit rider for me to chase :? )

We were hammering down some natural (well; it was all natural/technical really good fun) single track and I had my 'it's a safe trail centre path' head on, not looking ahead at the tree that had fallen at a 45 degree angle (the worse angle) across the trail. The Hanzz went right like it was on rails when it hit it and I continued down the trail minus the bike, ouch.. bikes fine tho so thumbs up.

Really enjoyable ride and Lar is a top bloke. Hopefully get out again soon. We did talk about going to the Mountain Ash DH which is supposed to be pretty superb tomorrow morning but not sure I can make it yet. Anyone up for it?

What time jimbo. Maybe if ian is ok we can ride later in the day and watch dh in the day? Great ride for dar/mike/tom. Lucky mike found his I-phone 4 after it fell off his bike :-D getting to like the canyan. She climbs like mad. I made it up the big hill after the pay have in one go :-D

no mate, i've got some nursery promotion stuff going on from about 10ish..gotta either get out early or when i get back

Very nice Forbez, it's a little on the heavy side to be ideal (especially with my fitness level) for those big XC days that the boys do. Get her pointing downwards though and she flys. I'm not the quickest by any means but it does give huge confidence and the bike is 'me' if you know what I mean, I love it even though a 140mm full suss would have been the logical choice for the riding we do mostly.

have to say im not happy about the changes at CC freeride, ok they took the corkscrew out for leagal reasons, but crist put something there, jump, tabletop, woops, stepup, step down. what they do? flaten it gggrrr.

and the new tabletop down the bottom well its not a table top just a big bump to slow you down, cant jump it to close to the berm behind.
move it up track so you can jump it, or remove it all together so you can whip around that sweet berm after.

Perhaps it's been built for the 1% who can whip it onto the berm shortly afterwards :? Steve Peat would ace it..

Got to agree about the replacement (or non replacement) for the corkscrew. No feature whatsoever is a no-no on the FR section.

And I still don't like the tabletops this however may just be my lack of skill
