  • does sound pretty fun.... wonder if the climbing is a harsh as Cwmcarn?!

well, it does have a downhill track there aswell so it's quite hilly

but i don't reckon it'll be as bad as cwmcarn, from what i remember the climbing is on nice singletrack, steep in places but not as rocky :D

I entered this before Christmas, I'm using it as a bit of motivation to get and lose some weight. I was a bit 50/50 because I cant get any route details, I'd be grateful for any details you got.

i ride up wentwood quite a lot, no where near steep as cwmcarn but does get muddy which will make it harder

Cwm carns mapp measures to over 500m compared to the 200m jobby ont he other... its deceptive the difference is Cwm climbs in one on that.

also the other one is over double the length ride :p

yeah, like waylander said, the climbing doesn't get much over 200m whereas cwm goes to 500m. it won't be as bad, i'm entering the 25km later :D

25km is not really a challenge though. up it and work hard 50km isnt that big a jump put in 2 weeks of 3 rides a week with a longer one at hte weekend and you will make it round :P

yeah, i know 25km of that compared with cwmcarn is quite easy. i did the marin trail in north wales pretty easily and that's 25km :D

so i'm signing up now, who else is doing it?

    ENTERED

what have i let myself in for

yeah, i think all the distances start at the same time so if we get together before hand and watch the fast boys disappear into the distance.

it's limited to 300 places and i think there's only about 30 places left so get booking, i don't want to be the only one of us doing it

had a good day today, i took the bike to work as i knew i was travelling to birmingham on my own. i left cardiff at 11.30 with the intention of stopping at FOD but i stopped at cwmcarn instead and did a quick 3/4 of an hour shortened loop for a bit of training for the enduro.

and i still finished work at 4pm...result

apart from i'm typing this in the hotel bar on my own

Not had any experience of them G but they seem to be a popular choice and I would imagine good for the event. Someone with actual knowledge will be along I'm sure.

I'm a little apprehensive about doing it on my tractor tyres.

A few conversations going on here lads don't want to cut away from your questions (or as I read it, Kev riding to Birmingham on his bike via Cwmcarn :? wierdo  )

Are we riding on Sunday, can discuss more about tyres, this event then..
