hi guys, glad to hear you had a good time i feel proper rough, it feels like someone has used sandpaper in my throat and i have a banging headache
i know waylander went cos my mates went there this morning and were apparently talking to you lot before they started as you were parked next to them and he said some guy on an orange mondraker was talking all bike radar, what ever that means
hope we can all get together next week though0 -

yeah, yeah, next time one of you lot are ill i'll come around and kick your front door down and drag you out see how you like it
i've had an idea to mix up some rides, not sure if people will be up for it or not. how about we all show a local ride that we do, so that we don't get bored of cwmcrn every week? there's loads of good riding up by me and gareth and i bet james can show us some good stuff up caerphilly mountain. i've always wanted to ride machen mountain aswell but don't know where the trails are.
just an idea0 -
+1 for thatRockHopper Expert ---- (the bike not me)0

I know some of Machen would do a rekee to remind myself before taking you.
But i would recomend a good dry weekend for it, the natural trails in machen get wet and cut up badly in the wet, better to leave them till the summer a bit, for trails own survivability.0 -

i'd be up for some more "off the beaten track" sort of rides, Sladey was saying there is a nice route at Cwmcarn that a few of you have done before thats up the other hill on the left. But a bit boggy atm.
Anyone got sore legs today?
My calves are killing!! DOMS!0 -
Nope legs are feeling great to be honest ready to ride again.
Seems to be my power has gone but my recovery is still there hoping my helmet mount for my lights get here tomorrow ready for night riding but booked week off in Feb to hammer the fitness, at least 3 cwm rides(it just works in the wet) and maybe a sneaky afan one turbo boost the fitness.0 -
Yea I REALLY need to increase my fitness!
Fortunately, riding with you lot isn't giving me much time to sit and rest so it'll come eventually
I've been on a healthy food drive since xmas, I ate far far far too mcuh!
Just hard to keep fit when you sit on you arse monday - friday!0 -
Indeed it can be hard work through the winter
No excuses for those summer months though, get some weekend leg work in while we can in winter then hammer the summer0 -

!
would that be the route that me and sladey ended up accidently riding a downhill track with our saddles at full height and i was pooing myself all the way down?0 -

That route was a bit above my ability, I am sure some of the more daring would love to ride it and I am up for giving it a go in the summer.
Whilst Ben and I were following the others up the trail (about 200m behind) I was describing the route that turns left at the toll booth, off the Trwch trail and follows the fire road up the other side of the valley, you then track around Mynedd Maen mountain above Cwmbran, you then join The Twrch Trail at the top of Airstream, Gareth and I were shown the route back in the summer,, the trail needs to be quite dry to ride it0 -

hi guys, does anyone fancy this?
http://www.stdavidsfoundation.co.uk/?pa ... vent_id=16
i know it's not mountain biking as such but i've done a few of their rides and it's for a good cause, they looked after my grandad when he had cancer and did a really good job
i think i'm going to do it just cos it's a good cause and to get some miles in as a fitness booster0 -
Not hugely...
But i am meant to be doing a 12 hours night ride for charity at some point int he summer should be good :P0 -

I don't mind getting involved
could do with some spinning miles in the saddle.
is it off road/ bridle paths?0 -

the last one's i've done for them have been on canal tow paths and cycle paths, there may be a bit of road involved but not much. like i say it's not exactly mountain biking but it's for a good cause0 -
been meaning to join you guys for a while, but keep end up riding other stuff (machen/islwyn and whiley or DH) or over sleeping on wkends
Anyways, i aint ridden Cwmcarn in ages, prob about 3 months, mainly cos i got bored of it and fancied more challenging riding, but ive had enough time away for it to be fun again now, especially if i rode it at night
Who has lights and fancies a cwmcarn night mission?Dont look at it-ride it! they are tools not f*cking ornaments
