Tour de Suisse Stage 4 **SPOILER**

Ugh - stomach churning. Almost as bad as a MotoGP crash but with none of the body protection.
On another day Cav and Haussler would have gone shoulder to shoulder and they'd just have bounced off each other, but the crank-in-wheel thing referred to by someone else did for them. Given the situation Boonen did amazing to almost stop before he hit Cav - max respect for his bike-handling...My cycle racing blog: http://cyclingapprentice.wordpress.com/

Sheit - who's hurt? Hope not Cav or Haussler or Boonen. The last 2 are just coming back.
Anyway good for Petacchi. That's sprinting.When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.0 -
Cav was looking left and naturally veered that way, looked like Hauslers foot caught Cavs foot and caused the crash.
Cavs fault though, should have used his second kick to get more distance.0 -

he had a quick glance and deliberately rode across ciolek and haussler-the sort of thing thor was complaining about last july. The crash was entirely cavandishs fault and i suspect if hed bothered to ride straight hed have won easily
Lol. Perhaps if it didn't involve Cav you would take of the bias blinkers and actually see what happened. Lol.0 -
Yes, having watched a number of times, Cav cut slightly infront.
Looking further back, crashes everywhere.
There was a Liquigas bike exploding 10 feet into the air and a guy in a grey helmet and RadioShack colours who took a nasty nose dive into the tarmac, for sure...."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Chaos.
As Roman put it, I hope to guys get good.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
most importantly any news on condition of riders?
looked like both drifting cav more than hausler0 -
Cavendish's fault, how can you swing like that at 60kmph(+) and not expect to hit another rider?
I wouldn't wish that on any rider.

Ugh that was grim, pity the Eurosport coverage cut away before any update on the riders condition. Have to agree though Cav moved far more than anyone else, just unfortunate they didn't just shoulder barge.0
-
Haussler was going to take Cav and thats why he rode accross him.It was a shame to see that happen i`m hoping no one was that seriously hurt.
Cav you silly man!!0 -
yeah for sure Cav moved across, I'd just prefer to see an overhead shot that's all- you know how different things can look.
Just from what I saw (which seems pretty poor as I completed missed the crank arm- good spot) was that HH took cavs back wheel. Point is- it shouldn't have been there in the first place! Already been mentioned- hey, that's sprinting. not defending him. I do like him, but I'm not a Cav fanboy0 -
Cav had already squeezed Ciolek out. The squeeze on Hausler was too late & too desperate.0
-
Cav ok, badly bruised. Haussler on way to hospital.
Ciolek ok.
But pity Arnaud Coyot - Fractured hip likely.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

hmm. looked to me like cav was going quicker than haussler no? i agree he moved across but i think he was travelling faster?0
-
He should know better. Unless his foot came out the pedal and caused the bike to swerve but I don't think so. Feel sorry for Haussleur - hope he and all are ok.

Its interesting to see how Cav's wheel folded on impact but in the later pictures, the wheel seems to have popped back into shape, albeit with a deflated tub... no?**************************************************

Got to say, some great photo's there.0

You tend to wonder whether Cavendish is worried about Haussler's growing ability. Injured almost all season, on his way to winning his second stage in three days and taken out by a thug who has been failing to achieve anything compared to last year.
Also Hushovd to win the green.0 -

not going to be popular for that list of injuries
CioleK was very lucky to get away without a broken collarbone... went down hand first rather than rolled with it.....
Cav needs to grow up a bit is my impression..."If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0 -
And earlier in the sprint (with about 250m to go) Cav also pulled a dodgy move when he pulled right across the road from centre to the side and cut a few people up... all the Swiss commentators here went "wooooaaaaahhh"**************************************************

This must mean Cav is off to Sky. I mean, this is excellent practise for sitting on the road as we saw quite often in Italy
I bet Boonen is thinking "at least I can hold my lines"Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

yeah you are right. cav definately did that deliberately to take out haussler. he thought, right nows my chance i'll cause a massive pile up , injure haussler but not myself and then i can win again.
what absolute horsesh1t being spouted here there really is0 -
Haussler out. Stitches and very deep cuts around his elbow.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0
