Bump
I was listening to Material World on Radio 4 yesterday and it had a piece on Earworms. A scientist has written a paper on Earworms and how they work.
Good news, its on iPlayer.
Bad news, they were talking about advertisers using what the scientists have learnt to make catchy tunes for adverts.
My latest earworm: Just 4 U London by Body Snatch Love the break at 2:56 to 3:38.FCN 3: Raleigh Record Ace fixie-to be resurrected sometime in the future

Hey Boy Hey Girl by the Chemical Brothers was bouncing around in my head this morning on the run in to work, with the "Here we go" bit being the signal to up the pace a bit. Remarkably effective.1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)

I feel a bit sorry for Mrs EKE. She's a primary school teacher and her earworms are kids songs, nursery rhymes etc.
Things like this. The US psyops guys use it to break-down Al-Queda terrorists.FCN 3: Raleigh Record Ace fixie-to be resurrected sometime in the future

When the kids were younger I'd inevitably have kids TV theme tunes messing with my head.0

Had Altered Images singing Don't Talk To Me About Love most of the way in this morning, which is great as it's one of the best pop tunes ever. And Claire was cute in the vid.0

I quite often have a variation of ‘Mother’ by John Lennon going round my head (and indeed being sung out loud) but I change the words from “Mother, I wanted you, but you didn’t want me” to the likes of “dri-ver, I saw you, but you didn’t see mee-eee-ee” “Ford Foc-u-us, I avoided you, but you didn’t care about mee-eee-ee” etc etc.0
