What was your Earworm today? Put a link to it in your post so that you can make your earworm contagious.

To get the ball rolling, today's Earworm was from Sometimes I Rhyme Slow by Nice and Smooth (early 90's hip hop), but in my head, I change the lyrics to Sometimes I Ride Slow, Sometimes I Ride Quick. Youtube here.
FCN 3: Raleigh Record Ace fixie-to be resurrected sometime in the future
FCN 4: Planet X Schmaffenschmack 2- workhorse
FCN 9: B Twin Vitamin - winter commuter/loan bike for trainees

    WTF?

What's an earworm? Something to do with Star Trek: Wrath of Khan?

A song that gets stuck in your head as you ride.

It began with some Level 42 song that I cannot remember and then moved into Afroman's Because I Got High . (click here) WTF? It's been many a years since I last smoked weed and I don't particularly like that song anyway. You've got to love the ingenuity of the earworm.[/url]

    Hmm.... Ok.
Prefer to have nothing in my ears as I cycle. Roads are dangerous enough without not being able to hear the traffic.

However whatever was last on Radio 6 as I leave the house does get hummed as I cycle in!

The earworm is a mentally conjured tune dude. I'm surprised you have never experienced it.

"We are the self preservation society" from The Italian Job. No idea why, just seemed an appropriate tune as I battled into Glasgow in the rain, this time down Dumbarton Road.

I think the song I have stuck is called Tinie Tempah-Frisky.
It just has stuck in my brain and can't get rid of the beat.

Apparently to get earworms out of your head just sing

"hey mickey you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind hey mickey!"

on repeat a few times to yourself and voila - earworm gone and "mickey" will also leave quietly.

    Peace and quiet again....

  • Despite all the great songs I listen to (well I think they are great) my earworms end up being something like Button Moon! Not sure what that says about me!

Today's cruise through the parks was accompanied by a mental rendition of 'summertime'. The '.... and the living is easy' version, not will smith.

Seriously, whenever I'm riding I seem to end up with that ticking through my head.

It's also got a music video that makes me laugh every time. Seriously, the high-five at 1:06 cracks me up every time.

This is my theme for the Parliament -> Putney Bridge SCR speed way:

Something about the "Go, capture him, and bring me his magic weapon" sample makes me push a bit harder for that elusive scalp :)

I had that ruddy Dog Days song by Abhorrence and the Latrine going round my head throughout the entire Dragon Ride on Sunday.

    It didn't help.

Very strange, but I like it.

Kinda like an underground Handsome Boy Modeling School, as if that wasn't underground enough already!

I am now checking out some of their other stuff.

It's nice to know that someone else listens to Level 42 still :) I need to expand my iphone album list so far I'm playing

    Alanis Morisette
    Garbage
    The Cardigans
    Aztec Camera
    Level 42
    The Cranberries
    Love Actually

I should get some of The Beautiful South on there.

This morning, the Earworm dropped "Theme from S'Express" into my lughole.

I haven't heard it for maybe 10 years, so no idea where that came from. Loving the fashion in the crowd at TOTP:

And whilst searching for that on Youtube, I saw this classic of my teens: D-Mob - We call it Aciiieed:

I'm going for a lie down now.

Hadn't heard the phrase "earworm" before, but I like it! This morning I had Star Trekking by The Firm in my head for about 30 minutes... Annoyingly I don't know all the words so it kept on looping around like a dodgy single.
