If I was Arroyo, I'd be pissed at everyone in that group. Did you see them sprint at the end? They had more in the tank.

No way did he ride nearly enough to deserve that win. Superb work by Basso and Nibali.

I reckon that could well by the final podium there

Vino lost big time to Scarponi and Nibali there - suppose it'll mean he is fresher tomorrow.

Wow, Evans cracked big time and is done now. He should keep it in reserve to try and at least win the final TT.

If I was Arroyo, I wouldn't have spent so much time talking on the final climb and actually bothered to ride.

    Is that Wiggo and Cunego?

EDIT: Guess it was another sky rider. Huge time gaps today.

Him and Evans were the only two who did ride.

No, Cioni, Wiggins probably miles back. Cannot see him coming close to that standard of racing in the Tour.

Yeah Vino is a prick! Cadel is 4 mins back now, plus he was spent today. Yet another tour slips from his grasp...

Woo hoo - that could hardly have gone better from a PTP point of view!!

Hardly a mountain-top finish, was it though? Big ring blast all the way.

No he isn't (well he is but not for this reason :D ). It's racing. Why should he help the maglia rosa? Chapeau to arroyo though.
It’s the most beautiful sport in the world but it’s governed by ***ts who have turned it into a crock of ****.

Yeah I know. But at the end of the day, they were the only two who had something to gain/lose.

Sastre, don't think climb suited him. Gadret, he looked spent.

And Vino, well he's just a drug cheat that should have stayed retired.

Arroyo was great today, as was Richie Porte. I'm just glad Pellizotti didn't get a start and that Nibali wasn't already in the squad before Pellizotti was kicked out.

I reckon Liquigas would have done what Astana couldn't do last year - fill the final podium.

I know he doesn't need or intend to ride hard, but just saying that even if he is, I cannot see him on that level of aggression. Hopefully I will be wrong - the more people giving Contador a run for his money the better.

Someone should've told the chasing group that. I think they were in the granny gears the whole way!

Scarponi for the podium and Evans to fade.... evans still need to ride at the front for the rd jersey i guess

AND will have to set the tempo to get arroyo off the podium tomorrow thou.

they were bvggered...they were all looking to ride away from each other rather than chase

To be honest, I think the way Arroyo rode today the podium is a bridge too far for Scarponi, which is a real shame as he's a much stronger rider than Arroyo in this Giro, but he's been punished for the Liquigas/Astana f*ck up on Stage 11.

Still, I know there are not too many Scarponi fans on here, so I doubt many people give a hoot about that...

Yet to watch it today or read this whole thread but I wanted to see the standings... have to say bravo Richie Porte, what a Giro he's had, really hope he holds on to top 10 as it would be much deserved.

If I were a betting man, I would put Evans down to have a stinker for stage 20. I always wondered if he came into the Giro with too good a form, and would tire in the final week.

Arroyo's place on podium is under huge pressure.

    Basso, from Nibali, from Scarponi.
