Contador is much lighter than Evans, actually, Contador is 130lb at 5'9", Evans is 140lb at 5'8" so it could be more beneficial for Contador to ride out of his seat than Evans?

I know! They are but only in HD and if you, like me haven't got it yet, then we've got to wait for this evening. I just hope it rains/snows then there won't be any pictures for the rest to see!! Miaow!

Is this why Cadel got tagged with 'Cuddles'.....he's a bit on the lardy side.... :D

I thought it was a) he kept losing so everyone wanted to give him a cuddle
or b) He's like a bear so you want to cuddle it.

I do however, think he is quite human after I saw him shake paws with the nameless horror he got presented for his stage win :D

RAI has been live, on and off, for the past half an hour.
Breakaways have 14 minutes, but that is meaningless, with 150km to go.
Mostly light cloud at the finish. Crowds gathering.....

Surely it's because Cuddle sounds like Cadel and nothing more sophisticated than that.

Interestingly, Moser is saying that the selection policy for the Giro has hurt Italian prospects (Pozzato was first Italian win so far).

He is saying Ricco and Visconti should be there. I agree.

Pooley took stage 7 of the Tour de l'Aude which was a summit finish. She attacked with 35km out on Col de Dent (HC) - mucho respect.

its interesting teams are not controlling time gaps...huge gaps...is it tactical or are teams just collectively wasted from 2 weeks of races ?

Its a long and hard stage today. I think the teams just want to save energy for later on. If big names show weakness on the first climb then we could see the power go down early.

its up to CAisse and they want a easy ride for Arroyo..

if LIQ or any other fav team attack (which means LIQ in reality) from along way out they put arroyo under pressure early

if they have the legs they could destroy Caisse today as they would be in a dilemia of chasing but dropping off Arroyo knackered at the foot of the zoncalan or letting the race slip away from them.. Caisse want to discourage hard riding as much as possable

I expect attacks from the bigger teams when they hit the hills probably SKY and AND will have a dig

Pooley took stage 7 of the Tour de l'Aude which was a summit finish. She attacked with 35km out on Col de Dent (HC) - mucho respect.

She reversed the position of the mountainous stage 4 where Mara Abbott just beat her to the line, another stage where they both made a lot of time up on the rest of the peloton.

Yesterday Pooley finished in the bunch in stage 8 just a few seconds behind the breakaway group. She's got nearly a 5 minute lead over Abbott (mostly from the TTT and a very windy stage where Cervelo split the peloton) going into the final stage today which is pretty straightforward so she should take the Tour.

unreal but totally expected, eurosport does this every year just as the giro gets into the real business end of the race;this stage, especially, seems important and es not sdhowing it is like the bbc missing the semifinals out of their world cup coverage in june.
i appreciate,as they always say, that it isnt eurocycling but, come on,not showing this in favour of an opening round game at roland garros(some favourite vs some no hoper) is utterly shite.whats the betting that the hour we will be privilaged to be shown this evening will be cut short/overrun or whatever

Btw, you may be interested in seeing some of these climbs or any other parts of course using Google's street vie on its google maps.

Was just looking at Zoncolan and it really is murderously steep!

Yeah, i thought it as because of Gary Imlach on ITV4 coverage, but when he says it it also sounds like 'Cattle' Evans, but it does also sound like 'cuddle' Evans aswell
