Why not, at least you ride it, there's some people that buy really uber expensive bikes then never seem to ride them, at least yours is ridden as it was intended

nah, i have grown quite fond of the jones, and have been enjoying a week off work where i have been spendign a few days with it.

had a huge amount of people after the bike, from all countries in just 3 days or so, but yes i have took it off sale, id regret selling it when i dont need to so im holding onto it while im still enjoying my bikes.

    Good on ya,

I'm the same, if I don;t need to sell it then why.

I don;t hoard stuff and I'm pretty strict with things like that but I've sold stuff in the past and wished that I had'nt.
  • At last Saltyman see's sence.....

    Welldone for not selling it......

Fancy a mid week night ride late November as I may up your way with work????

catch me nearer the time bud will see what im upto.

yeah, i looked back at my bike list, threads etc and pics and decided to quickly remove it from sale as they offers and bikes were getting very tempting.

the jones was tough to get hold of, so im keen to just keep hold of it, even if i get to ride it once or twice a month.

  • I don`t quite understand everyones reaction to the price, it`s certainly not the most outrageous purchase in the world, it`s worth what you`re willing to pay for it.
I`ve seen John Moore on his Jones and it`s a flying machine (might be something to do with his riding ability), I`ve spent some time laughing at this bike but I think deep deep down inside, I want one... as a second bike ofcourse

    Hideous and tasteless.

Something is not worth simply "what you're willing to pay for it". I'm pretty sure I could find a starving man with some money and sell him loaf of bread for £50. That doesn't mean the loaf is worth £50. I'd be ripping him off, just like a 10 grand bike is ripping people off.
It's just a collection of tubes. 10 grand will get you something that has had a hell of a lot more work gone into it.
  • If that man has £50 and is truely starving then £50 is well worth the fact his hunger will be satisfied.
It`s like classic car collectors, I wouldn`t give you 10k for a good E-Type Jaguar let alone 100k, but alot of people will pay it because they can.

And may I add yeehaamcgee... Your photography is excellent

But the starving man could go to any other reasonable minded person who wasn't an ar*ehole like me (or Jeff Jones) and get some bread either for free, or for very little money.
It just isn't worth 50 quid, no matter how much you can convince some people it is. (the bread obviously, I fully acknowledge that the bike is worth more than £50  )
Like the old saying, a fool and his money are soon parted.

Oh, and thanks by the way :D
  • Hmmm maybe you`re right.
How about... It`s like I think Wetherspoons food is as good as you need it, cheap, tasty and filling. So why do people pay 5 times as much for what can be described (by me) as the same food in a classy restaurant. They say you pay for preperation, quality of food, nice surroundings, attention to detail.
Take away the surroundings and I suppose you have a Jeff Jones situation right there. He charges more as the materials are top notch, the attention to detail is second to none, you`re getting something out of the ordinary which (worth it or not) does bump up the price and there will always be somebody willing to pay that price, especially if you`re likely to get a big chunk of that money back if you decide to sell it on.

hmm. I think I just get annoyed at excessive profit margins, and I get the impression that Jeff Jones is the kind of person that given the choice, would happily run a bank, and moan about only making 300-bazillion pounds of profit last week.

back on topic, the Jones enjoyed a blast around glentress, scotland in the rain and mud on saturday, had a great time and the new mountain kings were superb, really glad i picked them.

they climbed gravel, stone and mud, corners were now much safer at speed and in all conditions.

never let me down at all, the bike has been transformed.

I'll swap it for a vintage steel Carrera, if you're interested. It's got full STX-RC and everything.
