Mum got me some clothes, two shorts to wear for cycling, and two shirts.

The shorts are actually called "boardshorts" for surfing and stuff, but i already have another pair and they were really good, with and without thermals. They look pretty cool too. And they cost £12 each, which is a bargain imo. The shirts are cheap too, tenner each.

Sold my old school road bike, and my dad gave me £20 and he kept the rest, need to decided weather to save it or spend it on a new chain + cassette.

Nice one - always liked those wavy frames 8) . Think you need to do the complete 'Stealth Bomber' job on it and get rid of the red bits next.

:lol::lol: GT did she make you do a fashion show in them in the front room when she brought them home?

the front cable looks a bit long cos it hasnt been hooked up yet and trimmed as a mechanic i took it to, to confirm a bent bottom bracket spindle frayed the end of the original one putting it back into the calliper and just ripped it out of the brake forgetting its a total mare to get the cable back in if the bars are taped up..... (yes it took about an hour of fiddling to locate the outer opening inside the brake).

and the stealth bomber look is done to death over here... although i may change my position on that in the future.

    ?

Sorry, was I too subtle :P

I was implying that that's shorts are gay.

BTW tell your mum she needs to shave her legs, it'll put the punters off.

Just ordered a new Feedback Sports Pro Elite workstand. My current cheapy Brand-X etc. stand has seen much better days and Bike-Discount has them way cheaper than any UK store. Also means I've got a second stand for fork services, bike washing etc.

Good choice. I got a well used 2nd hand pair over a year ago, and they are still going strong tiday, and i have done nnothing at all to them, no lube, no service. Its seen many hours riding through the horrendous muddy forests too. The and only downside in my opinion is the weight, but its still 100% worth how much they cost brand new.

Just ordered some Adidas bib shorts from Halfords, then sent back immediately after they arrived as the sizing was ridiculous. I'm usually xxl in shorts, but went for an Xl off their sizing guide. A medium would probably have fitted.

I've ordered and will be keeping a pair of XT brakes for the Canyon. The Magura MT2s on there are great, but the levers are a bit fragile if (when) they get crashed, and spares are miles more expensive than Shimano.

Bad choice, they're really quite sh*t. Cheap, but you'll spend so much to keep them going (or just replacing them) that within very little time you could have bought superstar or shimano. I would only recommend them if you wanted something temporary, or lived somewhere w/o rain. Or dust. They're also not (very) grippy, they're heavy, very thick so pedal bashes are more common. Rant over, hope you don't have the problems I did.

Just dropped the rest of my earnings and student loan on this. It helps that I hardly drink any more or go out into London these days, rarely have time thanks to uni plus I'd rather be riding bikes so made sense to buy something useful and ever so slightly superfluous.

That's what I said when I bought the Ibis during my gap year... It was meant to be the only bike I'd ever need... 3 years later and I've technically doubled the number of mtbs I've ever owned and the Ibis could be up for sale later in the year!

Bit to short in the top tube,

    Not slack enough..
