Approaching a left turn and an Audi is in the other lane beside me with the indicator flashing and me expecting the worst but the Audi held back and turned behind me

Great weather to commute to work, first time in too long. Used the brand new shower at work as I was really sweaty, and to top it off, not a single poor pass - everyone must be happy the sun is out.

Ordered an aeroad as part of their discount offer last week, my size and colour were showing in stock, checked with their chat how long delivery would be, told 2-3 weeks, paid in full and got my order confirmation. - delivery expected 9th September, thought it was a mistake and double checked with their website chat and they confirmed.

Apparently a website error but it was still showing stock the next day - now I'm going to get my dream bike just in time for the onset of Winter! Not to mention the Duraace groupset I bought to put on it that will be lying around for two months!

Had to work in the chill part of the warehouse today, a cool 2c. Lovely, given the temperature in the rest of the warehouse.

Cable cutters make excellent Dew Claw cutters for dogs, and a lot cheaper than a trip to the vets/groomers to get the job done :D

Bike shop 200 yards from my flat is moving to 20 yards from my flat, a much smaller shop so guessing rent etc will be better for him.

Ask her/him for a job? - working 20 yards from home in a bike shop sounds sweet

From experience working in a bike shop would be expensive, I'd end up paying him by time he takes out the purchases from my wages every month :x

Charged my rear light up in work today but left it on charge in the part of the warehouse where I was working at the start of the shift. Hopefully the light is still where I left it, if not I'm going to be more pee'd off about losing the USB plug and cable than the light as the light was only a cheapie from Planet X.

Took the spare light in with me charged up but went to where I left the light on charge yesterday and it was still there plugged in exactly as I left it.

    Yay.
I hate people who nick USB chargers/cables, especially for essentials like lights. I've "lost" so many cables in my time ive come to zip tie them all together and formally label them with a UV wiring label maker into a wiring loom.

Going to a Q&A session in the office today with a bunch of guys who just won a cycling race in France, or something. Should be interesting......

Anyone got any questions for this Chris Froome bloke, or any of his team?

Very nice. Easier to think of topics to avoid than something original to ask.
I'd avoid the whole not really English, we voted leave so get out type thing though. Also, don't ask where his electric motor was hidden, avoid all doping questions come to that. There's the question in Road General of would a clean Froome beat a doping Armstrong, but that could open a can of worms. Good job I'm not there really.

Someone has already posted a question stating that F1 teams are happy to let team mates race providing it doesn't impact the team overall and so would this be considered in Team Sky at the Grand Tours? I nearly pointed out that they tried that in 2012 and it although they won, it didn't help team spirit.

Obviously ignoring the fact that Sky's entire strategy is based on team mate's sacrificing themselves for the GT contender.

If Team Sky got a great young French rider would Chris be willing to miss (or even act as SuperD) TdF in order to get a Team Sky French winner of the Tour - and the biggest win in Cycling

I've ended up submitting a question of whether, after all the effort he put in on the road including giving his bike to Froome at one stage, having to give up his beloved white Oakley Racing Jackets for some team issue ones on stage 21 felt like an ask too far?

I do a fixed 2-10 shift year round so means I need lights for the ride home regardless of the time of year and do miss the mayhem of rush hours.

School holiday traffic. Had to play taxi driver around 8am this morning, involved crossing Catford on the south circular and back in the car. Would've taken upwards of an hour on a normal day, this morning only 20 minutes return. Makes a big difference when on the bike too.

Got home from the ride 100 yesterday and propped the bike up against the garage. Popped into the house and promptly forgot about it. Still there in the morning.

Took my Gabba jersey into work just in case the ride home was wet, a wise move as it turned out. Should have taken a pair of sealskinz socks with me though.

Same sort of anti-rant here - I bought a Perfetto and other stuff to put away for the Autumn; luckily they were at the office and I rode home toasty warm and dry.

BTW Perfetto are quite a lot more "aero" than "gabba" - definitely a bit too keen for a commute

I've got a Castelli waterproof jacket with me but there's no way I can wear it, I'll melt

A work colleague rides home in his Night Vision jacket year round whereas I've been in short sleeves since April and hope to continue in short sleeves till October. The Gabba is ideal for the summer as a waterproof jacket would leave me dry from the water trying to get in but soaked from the water trying to get out.

For the second time in a couple of weeks the wife phoned me on my way home from work to ask if i minded her going out on her bike after i get home.

Got the two year old to bed and had a glass of wine with the 3 month old whilst she went out and did 15 miles. Very proud of her getting back into it despite the energy sapping abilities of the aforementioned sprogs!.
