I've just checked the weather forecast for tomorrow and decided it's going to be a bit icy in the morning to be out on skinny tyres so instead of 50 miles on the Roadie with the local CTC club riders it'll be a steady 10-15 miles plodding around the flat local woods on the Spesh....
Isotonic tablets and powerlinks arrived today, still waiting for Pads and still need to get the gears on the Spesh sorted...1998 Marin Hawk Hill

Then on Weds I'm riding to a meeting at Ewood Park Football ground, thats about 5 miles in all, then gym on tues and weds, and by Thurs I'll be a broken shell

Llandegla is my aim for the end of the Summer (late August hopefully), hoping to have a warm-up around the Blue route then have a go at the Red after lunch. All welcome
@Kangaroo - 50 miles at a steady pace on a lightweight road bike is easier than half that distance off-road in the Peak District. The route they should be taking tomorrow is one I have been on with them before and I can knock that out in 4 hours, including a stop for tea and nibbles half way round!!!!
@Frostys - I should be leaving town via Armthorpe and onto the M18 at J4 but if you want to meet up somewhere I'm sure than can be arranged. Where in town are you going to be?1998 Marin Hawk Hill

i usually do the black then the red at llandegla, the blue is more of ride up and ride down, nothing really notable, its ok though
the red is probably the hidden gem cause most people just do the black thinking 'its the black its bound to be the hardest and best' but the red is equally as good, and there isnt that much difference in grade, the main differece i think is the added climbs and swichtbacks on the black, but i think the red flows betterwhat are brakes for again0 -

I've heard good things about Llangegla, including that the Blue route has red graded sections to try before having a go at the full route (or was that Glentress, I forget....). I'm also hoping to do a skills course this year in an attempt to get back some of the confidence I used to ride with.1998 Marin Hawk Hill
