    There ya go Bamba...

@ Chesley I'm going to be coming from Adwick if we exchange mobiles I'll sit up on J3 M18 and wait for you to shoot through... Gotta pick Raj up in Sheffield on the way though.

Lovely ride in Woburn Sands today its was .... lovely and wet, lovely and cold, lovely and boggy.... the guy that was leading the ride said it was the worst conditions he had ever seen up there... Glad to know I can still pick a winner

Map doesn't show direction tho mate and I've not found a way on Bikely to include it.

J3 is a bit out of your way mate, surely you'd be A1(M) South to Junction 2....? Do you know where you're picking Raj up? I only know one way through Sheffield, Parkway, across the front of the Station and up the ring road towards the University and left up past the Children's Hospital and Weston Park. If you know the city better than I do you'll have to come past and I'll follow you for a bit.

Either either mate I was thinking of following you through Sheffield as I always get lost there.... I could pick Raj up at the station then keep going....

Looks like you've had plenty of the white stuff today and according to the weather there is more booked for Wednesday.

    nice out innit.........

It was pretty much the same here in southport, went out and did 20 miles in it down the cheshire lines path, on the return it started to thaw and i ended up plastered in mud......jolly good fun except the missus woudn't let me in till i showered meself with hosepipe !!!!!

I ran the conti mountain king 2.4s but found it a little slow going, did you get any cheshley, how'd you find them ?

I've liked the Conti's for what I've used them for so far. They are certainly not a mud tyre tho and when it gets gloopy they are a b!tch to keep moving. On the dry n flay bits I've not really noticed them to be slow but then again I ride so slowly that I don't notice any difference from one set of tyres to the next!!!! I'll be keeping them on for next week tho.

  • CHESLEY.... When you do yer gears follow on from paragraph 3 in the link i posted, when you come to the part regarding shifting to front middle ring and second smallest rear do this and then whilst pedalling put pressure on yer rear shifter as though changing to next larger cog, if the chain rattles trying to change to that cog with only a little pressure on shifter then you need to adjust barrel adjuster so the derralier comes out towards you (stopping noise), the rattling noise should only come just before the shifter clicks to that next cog.

Give it a go, when done try the other cogs and see if the shifting is correct, if the chain hesitates to change to whichever gear you are selecting the derralier needs to be adjusted so it moves in the direction you are shifting (i.e.up or down the cogs)

Hope this helps bud, if not i can do a quick adj; when we meet on sunday.

That's great bud, I'll print it off and have a look tomorrow. It's only the front that needs tweaking tho so I'm hoping that playing with that doesn't throw the rear out too.

  • CHESHLEY...after you've done the front the rear may hesitate or shift to quick (only a little), just adjust the barrel to move the derallier in the corresponding direction, but do it in little turns and try before each adjustment.

If it's just in the mid-range your cassette/chain/both could be worn. I've only had the Spesh for 18 months and it's not had much use in that time but it could already do with new chainrings and cassette.
