If you want to talk about patient instructors, there was a girl on our course who only taught herself to ride a bike last year (she's mid 20's at a guess) and didn't know how to work the gears but she rode everything, fell off quite a lot of it and just kept getting back on laughing. Top girl :D

have confidence, the things they will teach you on a beginners course won't kill you if you get them wrong, just remember that (sensible) speed over obstacles makes them 1000 times easier to tackle.

That's what I kept trying to tell myself at the weekend! It was expecially difficult but probably most relevant over the rock gardens but there was one on one of the final stages right on a corner with a steep slope to the left where I ended up hugging a tree half way down! Thankfully I was completely on my own so nobody watching!

    +1
    except for
features designed to slow you down
and that diagonal drop off on the monkey, where if you jump off it you hit the tree in front
but on the whole correct :D

I might have a trip down next wed or thurs on my day's off :D

might instead go to Dalby :D i'm sure someone said on sat that the blue route from the visitor's centre then join the red was a good route to do :D so might give that ago on my one of my days off next week.

Probably me as that's the only route I've ridden in Dalby before and I've done that cos my mate who took me there rides that as he finds the front of the red route 'boring'. I still wanna go and do the full Red, prob take me all day tho!!! Climbing the Blue route from the visitor's centre is a looooooooooooooooooooooooong uphill slog but it gets the altitude needed to make the rest of the ride predominantly downhill.

well when you do get round to doing the full red route good luck and try and get a not so warm day as last year i went and started at the dixion's hallow on a very hot day and after what seamed ages i had enough and took a short cut back to the car. it was way too hot. I dont mind a long slog uphill if the decent is worth while.

Evening Roo, how's yourself? Caz is hiding at home cos there's a full on riot happening outside her house! I'm recovering from a day of gardening.

    @ Roo

after our chat the other day i've not gone for upgrading my brakes just instead gone for doing the drivetrain apart from cranks and front derailleur.
    here's what i've gone for:

Sram X0 Rear Derailleur, X0 Trigger Shifter's and a Sram PG990 9sp cassette all in the Tango Orange colour

Good evening everyone :D hope every has had a good weekend

I'm planning a trip upto Dalby either this wed or thurs to have a go on the world cup course in the morning then do some of the blue from the visitor's centre untill joining the red back in the afternoon.

It all depends when my new parts come in as i'd like to try them out up there after a short try on the local trans pennine trail and local woods

so anyone intrested then let me know :D
