Giro Factor Red & White for £99.99! Only a few sizes left though 44,45,45.5

Lovely shoes. I've got the white (now greyish) ones that I bought in the spring.

Loved them so much that I bought the red / white ones when sportpursuit had them on sale.

I bought them 2 weeks ago and the difference between these and my Shimano R087 is as chalk and cheese. I wasn't expecting such a difference tbh, but I was wrong! They're really light, stiff and super comfy with the 3 arch choices. Personally I'd have bought black or white, but with a tight budget and for the price, red & white are fine.

I comprehensively do not NEED these, however this ignores the fact they are a BARGAIN.

How do you guys find the sizing, what normal shoe size are you, and what size in the Giro do you take?

They suit me down to the ground, much better than anything else I've tried (I think it's only Bonts that I didn't try).

    I'm a 42 in these and a 42 in normal shoes.
    I thought my Sidis were a 43.
    Turns out they're a 44.
The Giros have a similar fit.
    That means they'll fit me.

There must be a counter argument. Something to do with the fact I don't need them.

That will be your conscience, ignore that.

I found them to be a very different fit to Sidis. I really wanted a pair of Sidis and its what I went in for but I couldn't get on with them.

While we are scouring the web looking for bargins, can some please find me a ridiculously LOUD rear center lock (disc) 32 hole Hub for a wheel build.

    Thanks in advance.

Hope Pro 2. London Red can hear my Pro 3s across Richmond Park and I think it sets his teeth on edge.

I knew someone was gonna say the Hope Pro! just a bit too pricey.

    edit - and 6 bolt.
Don't say that. I've just ordered a set of wheels with Hope Pro 2 disc hubs and my only concern is the noise. At least it will scare pedestrians out of my way

I'm normally between sizes 10.5 and 11, all my trainers asics, nike etc, are a size 11. I've only bought two other cycling brands to compare both in 46, DHB which fitted nice and Shimano R087 which is a little bit tight, ideally should have bought size 46.5.

I bought 46.5 in the Giro Factors and the fit is great. There's enough room to wear thick socks for winter and thin when warms up. So they've come up similar size to Shimano in my experience.

Also I wouldnt say they're a wide fitting, they fit my slim feet fine but don't feel as wide as my shimano's, more like the DHB's.

Proper cheaps, no idea of quality or owt, but looks great for the money.
  • I was tempted by one of these frames as I realised this morning that I have all the parts to build a bike in the garage except the frame and a seatpost and I'd like to build a road bike for my son.

Looks like a bargain £155 plus any 3% from quidco (which is another £5 off) makes it an incredible bargain IMO - £150 for a full alu and carbon forks.

Ta! Decided against though. The links page has them as £25, then when you open that link I posted they are £30.

    Plus delivery.

I thought about it but there are regularly better deals than £3.30 a tube.

And deliver in under three weeks.

I appreciate that I grew up in an era of "allow 4-6 weeks for delivery", but Internet shopping has brought about my expectation for near-instant gratification. Witnessing the "I ordered X from Y and it's been Z days (where Z is under 5)", this is not a rare feeling.

They are pretty up front about why this happens though.
For each one of our flash sales, we provide a delivery estimate based on where the supplier is located and the time taken to get the products to our warehouse; this typically ranges from 2-4 weeks from the end of each sale. The reason for the longer than average delivery time is that we order in bulk from our suppliers at the end of the sale in order to secure exclusive offers for our members.

And they do offer deals that are genuinely cheaper than anywhere else, by quite a margin in some cases. Quite nice to have to wait for something now and then tbh.

Oh, I know why there's a delay. I have also seen a few items there, and found them cheaper elsewhere, with the added advantage of faster fulfilment. Currently waiting on an order that was showing as 12th Nov., but looks to have slipped.

Mine last order arrived a couple of weeks early. Ordered the wrong size though. D'oh

Nice to wait sometimes, but i had to wait 2 months for a couple of sets of base layers. thats a bit absurd if you ask me. And i got pretty cold waiting for them.

Sportspursuit seems a good idea, but I'm still waiting for my Giro shoes that have since come up £30 cheaper and could have had them next day :x , so I may not be using them again. Not always cheaper either as has been stated by others.

IMHO a good idea, but they just need to look at a few things to make it a better way to shop.
  • Halfrauds have 20% off most bike accessories & clothing (except GPS & GoPro). Personally, I'd rather pay the 20% and go elsewhere but it might be just what someone is looking for. Via the Web only

I'm selling my Ribble Carbon Sportive frameset well I've put it up for sale which has given me an instant stress headache I kid you not, I hate selling bike stuff but it really doesn't make sense to have it just sitting in the garage never being ridden.

    This is my new plan

Group set off the Ribble carbon sportive onto the cervelo
Rear mech swapped of the winter Ribble
New campag shifters on the Ribble carbon and mech from winter
Tons of wheel and tyres swapping

What do you know instead of a best bike upgrade I have a winter upgrade too and a spare n +10

Add Cruds to the Ribble and you have carbon for all weathers and almost the same riding experience as the Cervelo. Works for me!
