Daniel B, what was the code you found for the additional 10 per cent off at Probikekit?
Their home page gives the code for 10 per cent off but you've got to spend over £70

    Thanks

Sorry matey, was 'bicycling10' - was on the hot deals page, a comment a few lines down.

This is a referral code so good for me, but even if you don't want to do a referral to me - half price for the best looking helmets out there (Catlike Whisper Plus) at Sports Pursuit at the moment: £81.80 inc P&P http://www.sportpursuit.com/join/mroli2003_0a6099

Althought you can get from velodrome shop for £100 http://www.velodromeshop.net/index.php?p=product&id=413

  • Bloody expensive. Last year I stocked up on Decathlon long sleeve merino baselayers for a fiver (euros) each.

Hmmm - I don't know what the quality was like as you can't buy a decent T-shirt for 5 euro

The normal price was about 30 euros if memory serves. I'm happy with them, though they're not a roadie cut. Decathlon seem to have discontinued merino baselayers. The website lists only merino pullovers.

If you search for techwool - that is what they call their merino.

    Thanks. I've a pile of these in a different colour I think: http://www.decathlon.be/sous-vetement-t ... 98688.html

Are the helmets any good? I had a look at a couple of reviews for the whisper and it seemed a bit rubbish, poor quality etc.

Yeah I wasn't sure why BR gave it 3 stars though. A few of the actual user reviews on Wiggle were not great.

It's probably fine, but since looking again I see it is only available in small or medium, so I'm out.

Anyone seen a decent offer on 10-speed chains recently? I'm about to use my last spare, and like brake blocks I prefer to keep a few in stock...

    +1 for that link

They do some seriously indepth reviews. Makes such as nice change from the rehashing of the manufacturer's description that is posted online as the typical review

It does make some of BR's reviews look pretty comical :D

If you have an iPad you can get their quarterly mag for €3.99 which I think is a bargain if you get all of those reviews and content. Cheaper than any cycling magazine over here and better than them too, unless you like Marcel Wust reviews that's it.

Sorry, I didn't want to spend your money. :D

There is a cracking deal on these Bloc Sunglasses (with 3 lenses) at ProBikeKit - £12.55 (when using EXTRA5)

    http://www.probikekit.com/uk/clothing/c ... asses.html

    They usually retail for £25-£30!

That's too good not to try, found a code for 10% off, and went through quidco for another 5%, so if they arrive works out at less than £11 a pair - ordered one for my bro too.

These arrived today. Nice to see a £12.55 receipt and £45 pricetag on the box :)

Seem nice, fit well. The little soft case has 3 sections so the lenses are separated in transit. Nice touch!

Are the clear lenses actually clear? I had some similar Bloc jobbies and they had a light tint which appreciably reduced visibilty riding through the park in the dark so had to buy some other glasses with clear lenses. Lost mine at some point in my accident so will order a set of those.

They seem clear. Maybe not quite as clear as safety glasses, I assume due to UV filtering and what-not. I'll wear them this eve and let you know.

I am glad to see people using the offer. I think they are a great deal for a decent set of glasses.

The clear lenses aren't completely clear probably because of the UV protection. But I have ridden with them at night and they are good :)

Decent turbo trainer at Bike Discount. I've ordered one for winter riding. Just need to hide it from the missus now...

Got that one last year from Wiggle. It is basic but quite good and not extremely noisy. I would use it in the garage or outside though.
