Shoes above came in at £12.75 for me. I grabbed a 48 (my normal size) and a 47 as it says to size down on the blurb - tho some reviews say true to size. For this price, not a lot to lose either way - might hardly be worth returning!!

Oddly I prefer the kiss pad, not wore the progetto enough to give a good review. Giordana is my second, Ale is a brand I always wanted to try. How to they fit? I'm normally a size bigger in castelli than giordana.

Guy sells giordana at decent money on ebay, though his prices have gone up lately. I've a good few bits of the frc stuff from him.

I tried the kiss pad and didn't get on with it at all, but we are all different - I know some of their fairly high end kit have them fitted, but it's all down to the individuals sit bones I guess.

Are you asking about Ale top and bibs, or just the bibs?

Ime, they pretty much size up identically to Castelli.
I'm always a small in Castelli shorts, and exactly the same in Ale.
Castelli jerseys 95% of the time I wear small, but a couple I have gone XS, probably due to the cut being different - the only anomaly was the btw suit that comes up MEGA small, and I had to go Medium, and still dislocate my shoulder to get in or out of it.

Ale jerseys might be a tiny bit larger than Castelli, but it's really marginal, again I am generally small, but have a couple that size up that bit more roomy in xs.

Giordana I wear small across the board, no exceptions - well apart from socks ;-)
I have a ton of ex pro mitchelton scott kit and it's sublime quality, the FRC stuff is generally top drawer - the Ale equivalent I would say is PRR.
I'd agree that Giordana size up slightly bigger than Castelli, but for me I think xs if they did it, would be too small.
*Actually tell a lie, I have some of the Mitchelton Scott race jerseys in size XS, from what was proowned, but is now called CYKOM.

There are a couple of European sites that sometimes have some excellent deals, the oddly named Lord Gun Bicycles (Which I thought was some scam site for ages) but actually sends stuff really quickly, and also Keller Sports who are excellent - free returns too.
UK wise, Wiggle/CRC used to stock Ale majorly, but I think it's more PBK now.
Having bought the Sportful bib shorts, I will look to them in future when I need clothing if the equivalent Castelli is too pricey.

  • Very quick scan through Merlin's sales section, some good wheel deals for different budgets, https://www.merlincycles.com/vision-sc-40-carbon-clincher-disc-road-wheelset-175221.html for £500 might attract those who missed the VEL deal before Xmas.

Some decent looking '23 prices in their Shimano sale too.

Further to above post, I've just spotted Tredz (part of same group these days iirc) still gets 10% BC discount.

They have what seems like the same Easter sale on plus they have more brands available, such as Giant and Specialized.

No bike delivery fee (£35 at Halfords for built-up bike)?

Topcashback looks a bit better too at Tredz.

Castelli Go cycling jacket, touted as a bit of a perfetto with a slightly more relaxed fit plus a front pocket - £220 down to £69.
Perhaps a good light touring/gravel jacket?

    https://merlincycles.com/castelli-go-cycling-jacket-aw21-242204.html

Currently all sizes available, some colours have more limited sizes that others, and don't forget to go through TCB.

Here is the best one if you're unsure:

    Felt F70 05 (Turbo)
Marin Palisades Trail 91 and 06

Crazy price. I got the H3 for about £450 on its own last year which I thought was a good price.

I was happy paying ~£480 from Rutland last Easter, this price is bonkers, almost worth buying to sell on the h3 and keep the rocker.

Is the H3 very loud ? I know it is supposed to be quieter than previous versions but how does it compare to other brands.?
I have held off buying a smart trainer for 3 years but was about to bite the bullet - This sounds like a great deal ....

My downstairs neighbour used to moan about my old Direto from time to time, so did my better half, no probs with h3.

Well, I can't hear mine over Planet Rock! ;)

It's plenty quiet enough that I have to trim the front mech (old touring triple) to stop the annoying chain rub noise as I move across the cassette.

Also, when it did get loud and grumbly, about 3 months in, Saris sent me a new belt and pulley without quibble by airmail (it arrived just 2 or 3 days after they said they were sending it) and it's been fine for 2 years or so since :)

Agreed that turbo + rocker plate is a stonking deal, all I would say as a caveat, is remember that evans is now owned by mike ashley, and even before that happened, customer service was not overly their forte.

Personally I have not shopped (or even browsed) with them since that takeover, and despite having bought 3 bikes from them in the past (All with problems/incorrect parts that needed sorting) I would not dream of doing the same now.

If it had been from another retailer, I might possibly have debated whether it makes financial sense to continue with the £180 refurb I have planned for my 2017 Neo in a couple of months, but as it's been reliable for me, and I know it well, I'd rather stick with what I know, and see if I can get it to 10+ years.

La Passione have a pretty decent sale on at the moment.

Free shipping over 130 euros I think it is, and whilst it is technically free returns, as in they provide you with a pre paid label, they will deduct 15 euros from the amount they refund you.

Code madmarch20 brings these down to forty quid each. That's stupidly cheap. Do I buy another set to punt on the Bay later and make a bit? I could return the ones I bought and buy another set, and still have money back after taking p&p off!

Great price for those shifters pretty much identical to Sram Red but about 10 grams heavier.

I do like that green, and am tempted by these in the same green:

Would have been tempted by these in 'pine green' but none in my size :-(
    https://lapassione.cc/collections/men-bib-shorts-and-tights/products/club-winter-tights-pine-green

Not sure how good their jackets are, but they have some reduced from €200 to €85.

If I was in the market for a set of alloy disc wheels, I would definitely go for these in preference to the Hunts

    https://www.wiggle.co.uk/prime-baroudeur-tubeless-bundle

£170 with the EXTRA15 code, and comes with tubeless tyres, valves and sealant (so probably half the price once you've factored all that in). OK they are 100g heavier but neither set of wheels are lightweight performance wheels, doubt you'd notice for the intended "all season" use.

Blimey that is a good price, and I hope you went through TCB for an entire 1.05% cashback - just under £4 back though, better than a poke in the eye with a stick.

    I'm quite impressed with Prime.
Bought Prime cf bars and stem The quality/finish is that of something you would think cost double the price.
