Collapse in Sterling compensated for by all the expats panicking and moving back?
Maybe some shoes would be easier.0 -

Decent enough shorts for £10 at Planet X, wouldn't trust Lidl / Aldi for padded shorts personally.0 -

£825, tiagra, 9.8Kg, 405 hydraulics
As posted by idontbyte on HUKD, this bike is now £699 at CRC with an extra 10% off for British Cycling members, making it £630 delivered. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/cube-attain-race-disc-road-bike-2017/rp-prod154517 At the moment most sizes seem to be in stock of in at least one of the colours.
Good spot, absolute bargain for hydraulic road bike at £630 with the BC discount.
See viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=13074495&start=220 for tyre clearance and mudguard options, so annoying about how long Cube are delaying the re-introduction of their guards after last year's recall. Might have to go the clip-on route myself.
I realise this is a good deal but how good is the bike really? Take the hydraulic disc brakes out of the equation (i realise this is the main draw of the bike) but is the frame any good compared to other brands? Not knocking the bike at all just curious to know what people think. May consider one of these as a replacement for the current commuter hybrid I have.
For the BC members out there.
If I decided to sign up how long would I have to wait to receive discount codes?
Seriously tempted by this bike.0 -

The discount is a code you get by logging in, nothing through the post for CRC.The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

I've used almost nothing but aldi/lidl clothing for 2 years solid commuting of 45 mins each way ... no problems at all. Exception is helmet, shoes, overshoes, and overtights (used about 3 weeks last year), and a donkeys years old merino SS baselayer. For me, it's definitely good enough.Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

As far as I'm aware, it has the same mudguard mounts as my Cube.
What I cannot tell you, is whether these mounts are in a standardised position, so that popular full guards will fit safely and securely to them.
Cube originally had a set of guards that fitted their disc road bikes including mine, but sometime between Xmas 2016 and May 2017 when I bought mine, they were recalled by Cube. There have been quotes of a fixed design becoming available since around May last year, but they are still yet to make an appearance!
The guards issue has frustrated me somewhat, because it has meant that I've never intentionally gone out on it in or immediately after significant rainfall. I've tried to be patient in waiting for Cube to release their updated guards for fuller protection for the bike in wet weather, but I may well join the bandwagon, trying to fit a pair of clip-on guards such as SKS Raceblade Pro XLs,================

Can't see any mounts on the pics?!
And in the thread listed above the only people who've used mudguards are using the clip on variety.0 -

Colleague has a 20% off voucher and then either 10% through BC or we have a work top up system which gives 10% off.0
