Thank you NO you make some good points that convince me it's a silly idea. I have my Cotic with 2.4" tyres on it which is plenty really.
Silly ideas are the best! And I think I owe you a text...
Very true. We were talking about you a while ago, were your ears burning? Gentle ride with pub stop when the weather improves was being discussed.
Sounds perfect! I even have shiny new fully hydro brakes on the Condor that need to be bedded in.
Excellent, best to throw you off a steep hill then.

I have a lot of potential energy once I finally reach the top of a hill...

I've got to stop looking at Halfords. I almost jumped on a replacement trunkbag yesterday with the 20% off accessories, only to remember that I've already got a spare ( for which I paid more than the Halfords end price)
If I'm not careful, i'll forget I already have 3 bikes... and buy another :)

Hadn't used my Strava discount for Le Col and just got an email saying they have some Heritage HC bib shorts down to £55 with the Strava code, thought I'd give them a go at that price!

Well spotted! Now we're talking! At that discount, I might end up using my strava voucher too. Thanks!

You had to have participated in the Strava Challenge https://www.strava.com/challenges/le-col-season-starter

Somebody probably has a code they're not going to use somewhere.

I've no idea, but I tried to buy those. By the time I could sit down and buy, all red & blue (& zebra!) bibs in my size were gone. I find the plaster ones a bit... too... exuberant for my taste.

Just had a look and don't think this is true. The price of £55 shown on the website is assuming you have a code but when you go to checkout it only give you the regular discount price of £105.

How does a helmet get baggy?
Well I'd guess polystyrene stretches and the pads compress. Therefore it can grow a cm or so.

I can no longer wear it without a hat which isn't ideal.

Cheers tufa will have a look

Did I mention there are some good deals at mantel.com on helmets around the £60 mark? Well there are.

I had to copy & paste my Strava code into the discount codes box during the checkout process (handily my Strava code was in the email) but I got mine for £55 + £4.95 p&p.

Sorry, just thought my last post on this was swamped by Le Col shorts posts so may have been missed. It's potentially a great deal for someone though as how else could you get 33% off some brands that never do discounts. No idea how many users are on here these days but it's not unimaginable that two other people wanted something for £200 at the moment.

But fine. I'll drop it (and keep the £133 I didn't really need to spend).

Halfords 20% off limited edition Carrera bikes at my local store. Should get it online I reckon. Maybe a commuter bike for next winter? All the toerags round here ride Carrera so you'll possibly not get it nicked.

    The Ultegra version is £389 https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/4iiii-pr ... #pid=37948

Limited amounts left in 172.5mm, 2/3 respectively.

The irony is, I have a £341, 105 version from Merlin to pick up from the delivery office!

Are there any really cheap bargains for those with limited funds? It seems a lot of bargains on here are way out of my budget right now.

Shouldn't those with limited funds not be spending money on pointless bargains for the sake of it?..

    Ditto this

I don't really want to buy a turbo trainer for £1000 even if it is reduced

If there were some more cheaper bargains and the items were needed then saving even more money is not a pointless bargain. Unfortunately I have very good willpower and only buy bargains when I actually need the item. That is the only way to be to actually get real bargains. Buy what you need but buy at a very good deal price.

Can't do it on a £200 item even if that item costs £133 after the discount. I'm certain there would be cheaper but still serviceable version of that £200/£133 item. That with a third off would do better for the impecunious types.

    How cheap do you need?
Was my link to a £16 base layer earlier today not cheap enough?
