Craft Cool Mesh Superlight Sleeveless Base Layer £16.80 at Wiggle. Big fan of these and wear one all year round. I'm pretty sure they weren't this cheap a couple of days ago.

I bought one for £18.20 in the summer. Very nice piece of kit for those of us who will wear a base layer all season long.0 -

Is there much difference between that and this?

I needed a couple more and bought three of them some months back and should have spent 20p more to get the free delivery to a local locker drop-off so I could collect on the way to work.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -
I can't really tell the difference between base layers. I just use thicker and thinner depending on the weather.0

I have both and prefer the Craft. Feels less restrictive, particularly around the neck, and a nicer material.
Also an S in craft and an M in the Decathlon for reference.0 -
Decathlon is a bit hit and miss. Some stuff is great, yet other items are ill fitting and not breathable enough for running/cycling.0

Yep likelwse.
On the thinner front, I get on pretty well with PXs base layers - usually the sleeveless or SS ones. They're cheap anyway, but usually on offer too.

The cheaper Sportful could be worth a look above then.
or for slightly left field, these La Passiones look very good, although I think you would (Only up to size medium in stock too) need to add something on, or buy two pairs to get free postage - and double check, but I think it is free returns:

I've a padded pair, which appear to have sold out, and find them great.
Wore them Saturday at 0°C in the rain and Sunday at -1°C in the snow without any issues of getting damp or feeling cold or fatigued.0 -

Can you give some more details please - weather, length of ride, intensity etc?
I ask as I was out for 4h on Sat, fairly hard riding in about 4deg and persistent drizzle wearing Rapha classic deep winter tights. I don't like the cut as they are very restrictive and not that repellent as water went straight through. I think these are an older version and both aspects have been improved.
On the plus side I didn't get cold.
Looking at these or the castelli nanoflex pro, maybe the Rapha PT tights at a stretch.0 -
Shirley Basso wrote:Can you give some more details please - weather, length of ride, intensity etc?
Sunday was 3 hrs, started sleeting/snowing after 5 mins, slightly lower intensity than Saturday being mindful of the conditions.
I also have a pair of the Nanoflex Pro. I find that they're good cold weather tights but in heavier rain whilst the front panels are good at keeping water out on the sides and backs of the legs let water in. The water ran down my legs and filled up my waterproof socks.
The Amfibs are bulkier than the Nanoflex tights but the Nanoflex are more a compression fit.0 -
Great - really appreciate it.
I have gone for the Pearl Izumi ones for the price. Reviews say the fit isn't fantastic, but I think at 6ft, the large won't be too tight so should allow some movement, and the Rapha ones are cack at flexibility anyway so anything is a plus on that.0 -

I have ordered one today ... but not really sure about the lack of a pad ..0 -
I've worn the rapha ones without pad for many rides. Just stick your normal bibs underneath without issues.0

Just spotted one of these at the council run bike shop by the local tip - https://rideons.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/705se1.jpg
Says he's willing to sell for about $80. I didn't manage to get anything lighting up, so possibly a faulty connection somewhere - battery showed some life when I pressed it's 'self-test' button. Personally, I think e-bikes are the work of the devil, but the soon-to-be-wife wants one. What could be causing the failure to get any of the electronics going? Is it worth grabbing and doing up, or would I be just buying trouble and expense? As far as I can see, the wheel alone is worth more than $80.0 -

If the battery is good, then I'd get it. Should be fairly simple to figure out the issues with a multimeter and address them either with some contact cleaner ( most likely) or a soldering iron/crimp set!Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

And this SS Jacket also in all sizes, for £72.50 - would have ordered one if it had some brighter colours on the rear:

Sweet, asked him to put it aside for me. Even if the battery isn't amazing, it'll rarely be doing above 10-15 miles. Been planning on converting her current bike for ages but the wedding has had to take priority.
Tried explaining n+1 to her the other day to justify a retro steel frame road bike but she wasn't having it. Apparently 'a wedding with flowers' is more important.0
