Essential tees are awesome (merino even better). However, the polos size up weiiiiiiird.

I'm a 42" chest with pretty big arms for a cyclist. The sleeves were big on me and the shirt was terribly short (6ft, size large).

I have a 'dans le rouge' T-Shirt in small which fits perfectly, and it's evidently a top quality garment.
Was hoping the Polos would be along the same lines.
I have a short torso, so hoping the length will not be an issue, however I do have cyclists arms, so that could end up being entertaining

Had kind of assumed these would fit, but we will see!
Yet to be despatched, but likely have them end of this week, or early next.

Just need to be sensible. Only buy 1 thing for every 25 things Dan buys and you'll probably be ok.

I'm being serious here, but I'd genuinely be interested in how much you've spent in the past 12 months on cycling kit. You single handily keep alive the "stuff you've bought" thread.

Going through my wiggle account I was surprised to find out how much I'd spent in the past year, (at just under £500) but then digging deeper they've included my warranty replacement wheels and it includes birthday vouchers received and gifts from my parents which I've ordered through my account.

Feel free to tell me to pi$$ off though.

Beat me to it, he's probably already spent more than I did in 2017.

I spent very little as I'd ridden very little

I would never do such a thing re the pi$$ing off comment (As I am polite and all), but I don't keep any 'records' so it wouldn't be easily available, plus if I buy through Evans it's through my work scheme, and with vouchers etc, and the same through Halfords, so doesn't show up on my credit card - oh and paypal sometimes comes into the equation too, which in itself may have some balance from my own sales.

If we ignore the Rapha splurge and look at 2017, I don't think it was too bad, as I sold a few hundred pounds worth of kit, which was handy - most of it went on facebook via a buy and sell page, which was pretty useful and above all easy - plus zero fees.
Additionally some of the items I buy, now that I am lighter than I was, do not fit as I would like, so more than I would like gets sent back, which probably makes what I buy, or rather order, worse than it actually is - I assume people are not interested in the items I sent back so rarely get around to stating as such, but maybe we need an 'Items I sent back' thread!
I must also admit I am a sucker for a nice (to me) colour scheme, and also items that fit me really well.
La Passione bib shorts (And Rapha) are still my favourites, and Ale jerseys\tops are my No 1 for the top half, with Pactimo coming second.
Castelli alas does not fit me like it used to when I was more sturdy.

We are this year, moving my daughter from the little bedroom into the big one (Will be redecorated first), and that is currently where I have spare kit, and accessories, so that should spur me on to getting them advertised and sold.
It's one of those tasks that I procrastinate about, and it's never as bad as I think it will be, but I never seem to learn :?
I also have a load of Rapha jerseys to sell, that will now be too big for me, but am assuming\hoping they will be a comparitive breeze to sell.

*No bikes were bought in 2017 - well aside from a 2nd hand childrens frog bike for my daughter :D

Back on topic though, as I know someone will get the hump shortly - these are pretty bonkers deals no?:

Full carbon, 105 AND hydraulic discs for less £1099, and that's before cashback AND BC discount which would incredibly take you sub 1K, circa £970 - best deal on full carbon and hydraulic discs I have seen I reckon:
    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/eastway-zener-d2-105-road-bike-2017/rp-prod164713
    Eastway-Zener-D2-105-2017-Road-Bike-Road-Bikes-Blue-White-2017-E17-R32-D2-52.jpg?w=430&h=430&a=7
    Currently in all sizes too.
Admittedly you can get a simiarly equipped Synapse 105 down from £2200 to £1500, but with the £530 saving, you could get some lovely light wheels, and take it down from it's already reasonable 9.1kg specified weight.

And this Wilier, with Ultegra for £1207 in Med and Large - if you can excuse the gash colourscheme (IMHO):

    prod160704_Gloss%20Black%20-%20Red_NE_01.jpg?w=2000&h=2000&a=7

After BC discount and cashback, that weighs in at around £1070ish I think.

Mamiltastic extra long head tube too :-(

Why do the competitively priced disc brake bikes always have such upright geometry? No love for those of us with short legs....

The cube attain sl disc might suit, I was gonna pull the plug on a 58 (that's what I usually ride) Tried it out at lbs and it's way too small.

That Eastway does look a bargain, but it also looks quite dull and as TimW says that's a very tall front end. My Pro6 looks better to my eye. I think disc braked bikes are going more for the all day endurance market rather than a racier CX type which leads to the higher front end. But considering I turn 50 this year maybe I should be happier about that.

It’s intended use, isn’t it my cheap CX bike had fairly high, slack angles which suits its intended use ie hacking around muddy woods, steeper angles make sense on road and racing (CX) slacker for steeper descents see MTB where even XC race rockets are getting slack as the races are getting more technical etc.

I hear what you are saying - for me, with short torso and long legs, these 'endurance' bikes are a big blessing :D
I think you may have a point Veronese - perhaps canted that way by the fact they are not the lightest of bikes out there - dare say that will change with time though.
IIRC, you are doing well to get a disc bike to sub 8kg, this side of a 3K retail value, and even beyond (dura ace et al) I assume can't make that much of a difference.
Lot more, and ever growing list of, wheel options out there now though.

Roger makes a good point about slacker geometry too, my bike gets a bit scary downhill on rough stuff. But then I am a bit of a Jessie.

Mmm weird how there is a national retailer called a Cycle King in Rochester based on the high street, and not the address they specified. The Facebook and twitter links don’t work either, something doesn’t seem right. Was tempted by the wahoo gps but not sure I’m willing to risk £100 despite the bargain.
