They've got 3 for 2 on and I fancy (but don't need) some shoes for that much and a third off would tip me into getting them.
I was wondering whether this would all stack with discounts/price match etc. No idea though as my price match emails have been rejected as you can't stick the whole URL in as too long and if you put a general page in (i.e. Wiggle.co.uk/giro_synthe) for example it says that you haven't linked to the specific product.
Seems Evans are getting the PlanetX affliction of putting prices up before announcing discounts. The £180 shoes I was after are now £200 but in the 3 for 2 "offer". Bandits.
Same with some other shoes I had lurking in the basket. £50 the other day.. now £100 and in the 3 for 2 offer.0 -

Shame I’m probably XL. Oh, and the code FLASH10 should get you another 10% off.
I think I can see why that's reduced.....
The RH+ stuff does seem a bit ambitious with its pricing.0 -

I have gone for the Pearl Izumi ones for the price. Reviews say the fit isn't fantastic, but I think at 6ft, the large won't be too tight so should allow some movement, and the Rapha ones are cack at flexibility anyway so anything is a plus on that.
I have ordered one today ... but not really sure about the lack of a pad ..
So they just arrived and immediately they feel WAY more flexible than my Rapha Classic Deep Winter Tights.
The DWR front feels really nice and thick on the front with a fleecy lining with really soft panels behind the knees to stop it cutting in when legs are bent.
There is a little flap to aid access for comfort breaks, although given you have to wear padded bibs underneath, I am not sure how useful it will be, but it's a nice to have.
Also there's quite a clever 6in cuff at the angle which would go over your shoe covers to provide extra protection from water getting in the tops. Seems very well thought out.
Size wise, I went for a L and at 6ft it's spot on, probably room for another inch or so in the leg if needed.
Just poured a cup of water on my leg and it all ran straight off but I appreciate that's hardly measure of proper proofing in a severe downpour.
So far seems like a great purchase.
Mine arrived sometime last week
Firstly looks well detailed but very thick insulation/thermal for the type of weather we get in London and the fact that I will have to wear another garment underneath will surely cause me to over heat. Look to be very suitable for arctic conditions.
I will be returning mine.0 -
I returned a pair of Rapha Deep Winter Tights having tried the Pearl Izumis. Better quality, fit and comfort and half the price. No brainer, so thanks for whoever shared them. It's a shame more companies don't make windproof unpadded bibs.0

Anyone in the market for a cheapish commuter bike ready to go out of the box?
Apart from the mechanical discs, this seems like a pretty good deal to my mind - £900 - down to £595, then 10% off through BC, and 2% off through TCB, should take it down to around £525 - rack and mudguards, assuming they are decent, must be £60 worth.
Only downside I can see, is (I'm not up on my Sora) the 9 spd Sora, where I think the latest and greatest is 10 spd, and would then have been easier to convert to hydraulics should it have taken your fancy. Imagining it is never going to make economical sense to do that on this bike, as you would need new shifters\callipers, rear cassette and chain.

How do they size up? Based on the size guide, I think I may be a small. I'm an M in Sportful and Castelli
But then wearing them over bibs, don't want them super tight.0 -

Just back from a 40k spin in these and they are toasty! I'd say they are a tiny bit restrictive compared to my lighter tights but that seems a very reasonable price to pay for the warmth and hopeful waterproofing. Night and day compared to my Rapha tights.
Size wise I am 6ft on the dot and went with Large having previously worn medium in Rapha Classic Deep Winter tights which I didn't like. I reckon I could have got away with a medium but given this will only be worn in the harshest conditions I am happy to have a bit of extra room to move rather than suffer with a lack of flexibility0 -

I'm 179cm, 67kg and went with small which felt like a good choice. Think I wear M Sportful bibs off the top of my head.0 -

Now £13.99
What's the deal with Wiggle, will they refund the difference in a price drop like some places? I bought two at £16.80 and both are still in their box at the moment.0 -

Not sure - they have live chat of course, so maybe quickest to ask them.

Yea, will shoot them a message. Cheers
edit: They don't price match but the guy said I can just return them and reorder at the new price, so I guess I'll do that. As much as I like Wiggles return policy, I just wish they'd include a returns form and I didn't have to print out a load of pages each time.0 -

Ah yes now you say that, I do recll receiving that information - seems pretty @rse about face to me.
As now they have to pay for you to send the items back, then they have to have someone process the return, check the items are ok, put them back into stock, and then process a refund to your payment method.
Simultaneously they now need to package the same items up, and pay to send them to you :?
I just don't understand how the two lots of postage costs, plus admin and processing time works out better than one simple refund - which is what Evans do - ad hoc refund they call it, keeps everyone happy, and saves on effort and cost.
But due to this, I now do the same, and just re-order if I see it a chunk cheaper than it was when I purchased it.
I think they include postage labels normally, so only the returns form - I prefer that actually, as nothing to fill in by hand is there, just pop the sheet\s in and away you go.
Rapha's return process is similarly simple, select what you want to return for refund or exchange, print off, pop in the parcel, print off and attach the RM label, and away you go.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

Yea, you'd think it'd be easier and cheaper for everyone involved to just issue a refund. Maybe it's to put people off claiming back 20p here and there.
I used to get returns labels from Wiggle but haven't for the last year or so. I can't remember who but I've used a couple of places that included the returns label and the returns form was just on the back of the receipt, so no printing required at all. Oh well, I have a couple of Rapha things to return as well0 -

I'd be all over that Cube but, as a 54cm Supersix and CAADX rider, isn't the 56 too big?My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

If cubes still measure like they used to, a 56 cube is really a 54, or thereabouts.0
-
I looked and would say with the more relaxed geo, a 56 supersix would fit a racey-ish position as a 56 Attain. If I were considering the Agree, I'd look at the 58

Am seriously tempted too-any ideas how I convince Specialized to give me money back on an Allez with a recalled fork and no transparency on when a replacement is due so I can ride it again?!0

JimboHorizontal wrote:If cubes still measure like they used to, a 56 cube is really a 54, or thereabouts.
I think they might have changed this. The stack/reach on my 2015 56cm Agree is closer to the 53cm than the 56cm Agree now.
Makes sense considering no measurement on my bike is 56cm!
Spec on that Cube deal looks pretty good for the price. Not a fan of the colour or the mahoosive headtube though!0 -
bendertherobot wrote:I'd be all over that Cube but, as a 54cm Supersix and CAADX rider, isn't the 56 too big?
Reach of a 54cm CAADX looks to be 378mm, stack 555mm...
http://www.cannondale.com/en/Europe/Bik ... =undefined
54cm Supersix has 387mm reach and 551mm stack...
http://www.cannondale.com/en/Europe/Bik ... =undefined
IMO you could go with either a 56cm or even 58cm Cube, depending upon how upright/aero you want to be.
The Attain Race has the same geometry as my Cube, which is a 58cm, 388mm reach and 610mm stack. These figures only drop by 3mm and 19mm respectively for the 56cm frame...

I'm ~5'10" with ~32.5" cycling inseam from the "bare feet, ~8" apart, thick book against a wall" method. Short legs and large torso compared to an average bloke this tall.
Crank in line with seat post, I use ~90cm pedal cleat contact point to saddle top.
~52.5cm saddle tip to near side of handlebars.
Bar tops ~3cm lower than saddle top (uncut steerer, max 3.5cm spacers under down-turned stem)================

Does annoy me that they call it a 'Race' when it has a head tube you could fit a flag to the top of.
Hmm, i'd promised myself I wouldn't moan about this.
Also annoying that Shimano are only producing reasonably priced road hydraulics in flat mount - cutting out a huge swathe of potential upgrades.0 -
