Got Evans to price match it that's a £73 discount!

They won't price match for me, rejected but are apparently happy to do a discount!?!

I live round the corner from the warehouse and the staff in there are always really good where as the online price match is never a reliable way of getting prices approved IME

Ring em up is my advice, never had an issue with it if you are speaking to them one on one.

Why not just buy it from Planet X? Why try and find another retailer who is willing to price match at what is almost certainly a loss for them?
  • Cause I can collect it at store and I like using evans

I have the foul weather gilet, some bibs they don't make anymore, a speedsuit, oh and also short and long sleeve merino base layers.

    I'm assuming for = fit?

If so, I would personally suggest they are more like Castelli. Having said that, Myles is very active, and will respond to queries quickly usually, around any sizing questions.
For me, they are a good solid brand, who make no nonsense high quality items.
Not a huge fan of most of their colourways, but that's an infinitely personal thing I realise!

They aren't the quickest in terms of delivery... Ordered on Tuesday, was told the order was sent on Wednesday and not a peep since. Will have to chase in the week

    Did it ever arrive?

I sent my small shorts back (first class large letter would you believe for £1.30) on Monday, arrived with them on Wednesday, and they let me know yesterday the medium pair were on their way. Expect I won't get them until Monday now, as going to work address.

Very keen to try them, think they mighht be right up there in terms of fit and comfort with the best - had originally just bought them for turbo use.

No, it didn't. I emailed them in the evening, they replied quickly and agreed to replace them. They were posted again yesterday, so it might be there today. So far they have seemed very responsive and very 'human' which is nice

My new package is here, it's the one that was sent yesterday. I'll have to thank them.

Sportful R&D Light jacket down to half price at £99 , plus extra tenner off with code WHSE2017. Limited colours and sizes. I've got the previous version and the Polartec Alpha insulation is very good indeed.

Also saw this Sportful Fiandre No Rain jacket...

If you take an XL this is currently reduced from £175 to only £76.99 - and the £10 code will work on this too as it's in their clearance sale. Again, I've got the previous version and it's great, only critiscm would be the single wide, zipped rear pocket. This improved version has sorted that with 3 rear pockets and at only £66.99 is a pretty nifty bargain (if you take XL) 8)

Perfetto LS in most colours and sizes for £90 - plus they always have that £5 code kicking about, plus cashback from TCB, knocks it down to less than half price.

So I used everything on a ride this weekend. Socks were good. Gilet was also good. Mitts were also nice, but as I was on the bike for 5+ they weren't as good as the Specialized I have which have more padding, but would be fine for a commute.

The shorts were very comfy, but came up shorter than something like my Castelli Endurance, which of course risks the softening off of my carefully cultivated tan lines. Also they weren't as easy to use if you needed to nip to the loo, and in general felt slightly smaller than the Castelli, which was interesting, but not an issue. I would certainly consider buying them again.

Thanks for that - I have my mediums today, so will try them tonight, probably for a 90 minute turbo session.

I tried the mitts at the weekend, and they actually made inbetween my fingers a little sore, though they felt fine when out on the bike, and are the right size, in terms of not baggy round the palm.

Glad you liked it oevrall though :-)

The socks are going to my brother, and the gilet is going to be for my gf, as I am already ably catered for with regards to gilets.

The notes are good fakes, I had a sample sent through to me on the proviso that if I was happy I'd buy it, which I did by sending it back to them
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

I bought the Ardennes mitts a few weeks ago and cannot get on with the easy off pull between little and ring finger, it's in the wrong place making the material rub my little finger. Shame as the rest of it is nice.

I wonder if it is that, I shall pay more attention next time to see what is the cause.

Have you contacted them about it?

  • I haven't no, didn't think it was worth it for a £14 pair of gloves, although they do say they pride themselves on the design of their items.

Just seems a silly place to put it to me, it just rubs the bare skin, would be better positioned between middle and ring finger or have the little grabs that some other gloves have on the knuckles.
