Went down to Aldi today and got the tool kit (https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/t ... ool-kit-1/) for £9.99 instead of the advertised £19.99.
This was in the Lincoln store, possbily not the same nationwide.0 -

I've not tried the slicks but the standard (slightly waffle patterned at the edges - why?) tyres are my commuting (and pretty much everything else) favourites and the best price for these is usually around £34 a pair.
All year round commuting tyres? And are these basically the same? Looking to try an alternative to the Durano S that doesn't leave a trail of casing cord behind it.........
Yes - all year. The Pros I use almost never puncture (except big shards of bottle glass). I've never really understood why the slicks are more expensive.

I keep one of those kits at my parents for when I am down there but I wouldn't use it as a regular use kit - it's not that good. Last time I tried to use the chain whip it bent! It is handy and small though and adequate for occasional use - eg tweaking a lightly used bike fore and after rides.
If you want a bargain starter tool kit, the ones branded eg Ice Toolz (amongst many) and sold normally for £40-£45 are far, far better. The cassette tool was better than the Park one (though really that isn't saying much). I've rebuilt several bikes using my one of these kits - there's no way I could have done that with the Aldi one.Faster than a tent.......0 -
Picked up some Aldi winter gloves and the compression stuff for the GF. Gloves seem ok for the money. There was a few winter tops too and they did looked good and did fit well.
I tried a small and I have a 36/38 inch chest and teh fit was good, and had good length arms. Fact is though I just didn't need it.0 -

Anyone got any vouchers/discount tips on getting one of these decent quality sets at absolute lowest price? It's for my mate who's got next to no money, and can probably afford to wait for a little while.Sometimes parts break. Sometimes you crash. Sometimes it’s your fault.0 -
Some back-up lights for 2.99, seems a no-brainer.

I have a pair of those on my helmet - pretty good for that really, so good that I dont bother to take them off for daytime riding generally. They arent the brightest but having something higher up flashing does make me more visible and the run time is pretty good.
Bear in mind that they are only £2.99 if you spend over £20, otherwise you have to pay postage.0 -

For a bit of balance re Aldi tool set. I bought one two years ago and have had no problems, and it's been used quite a bit. Personally I think it's a decent buy.0 -

I find it varies who you get. One of the chaps in my local store refused to give me the 10% BC discount on a reserve and collect because I was already benefiting from the web price. I argued that there was nothing to say that on the voucher but he flatly refused. Other times I have had no problems using a web 10% code plus the BC 10%.0 -

Several questions here.
I am looking to buy an Ultegra TT groupset. The cheapest place seems to be dave hinde at £495 (I don’t need separate brake levers).
http://www.davehinde.com/shimano-ultegr ... upset.html
Having read an awful amount of negative reviews of the service from that shop I am keen to avoid them but obviously want a good deal. Wiggle don’t have an Ultegra TT groupset listed so cannot price match.
I know previously I have read on here about a price checker website/company but can’t for the life of me find that looking back through the tread. Anyone know what this may be?
Has anyone seen an Ultegra TT groupset going cheap anywhere? I am trawling through the internet working out if it’s cheaper to buy it in parts from various places and yes I have checked the german shops.0 -
Flubit, they appear to be amazon only now. Dunno why...Ribble Audax - FCN 5
Dedacciai Pista - FCN 30 -
buying second hand parts from here will make it considerably cheaper.
just last week i got an ultegra crankset for £100 + p+p.
