But any decent deals on lights? Looking to spend around £50-60 for Front and Rear for the commute a few times a week.
These are excellent and an absolute bargain-

Lovely chaps thank you both for the links. I will do some reading on both and purchase them. My Ebay specials are not really good enough....0

Has anyone seen any good bargains on low-light sunglasses?
Doesn't need to be anything fancy - just something cheap and basic for the commute.0 -

If in complete darkness I would only go for totally clear. The difference between a slight yellow tint or a UV blocking lens and clear is really noticeable when it's properly dark.0

just found a muc-off chain doc in my local tesco home plus for £6 reduced from £25. Not sure if they are doing this in all of them but snapped myself one as it seemed like a steal (and i needed a new one anyway).Giant TCR advanced 2 (Summer/race)
Merlin single malt fixie (Commuter/winter/training)
Trek superfly 7 (Summer XC)
Giant Yukon singlespeed conversion (winter MTB/Ice/snow)

Smart light set, delivered for £21 (cheapest I've seen elsewhere is £30 and you often pay that for the front light alone)

Not really up to use on unlit roads/trails, but pretty good for the urban commuter________________________

I use a Lux 25 as my back up light and that is plenty good enough for urban commutes on its own, the 35 will be no problem at all."If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got."

Was thinking of upgrading my brake calipers to red and found these at Merlin
Red (black) brake callipers for £139 set
http://www.merlincycles.com/bike-shop/r ... -pair.html
I already have the red shifters running with Planet X Ultra Light CNC Brake Calipers, Would these be a noticeable upgrade?0 -
Depends whether you want a light bike or to actually slow down when the brakes are applied. If it's the latter, then yes.0

Are the Sram Red brakes really that poor?0

"Would this be a noticeable upgrade?"
"...yes"
Not sure how you conclude that I think they are poor from that! The only thing letting them down is they are very slightly heavier than the PX ones (~40g) but better in every other way.0 -
Thanks onemoresolo, as dhope pointed out, I misread your post. I have ordered the sram red (black) from Merlin based on the recommendations.0
