    The equivalent anyway.

  • Velo29 doing a rather spiffy Reynolds wheelset for £299. They are also one of the few places left doing the Continental GP4000S tyres under £30 now, £27.45 each.

I hope those Continental long valve tubes have been improved. I bought a pack of 5 a while back and every single one of them leaked from the valve no matter how much it was tightened up. It leaked less when fully inflated, but if you had to pump one up at the side of the road they were a bitch to get inflated.

Maybe a bad batch, but I've seen others complain of the same problem. Someone said to nip up the flattened sides of the valve with a pair of pliers, mine were already tight here and it made no difference.

Website says "Product no longer available for purchase" :(

Not as good, but still a cheap long valve tube - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=41989

I'll have 10 of those as well then, can't have enough tubes.

Bloody hell, that's a lot of spare tubes...

I had a panic on Sunday night when I changed tyres and got a massive pinch puncture when reinflating. The tube was too badly damaged to save and the only spare I had was in my saddle bag. Going out without a spare just scares me and I hate being in that position.

but you'd be in that position if you had to change it a mile into your journey, so what's the difference?

The difference is that I don't live or work near any bike shops that I can get to during the week. I like to keep spares at home and at work. At the moment I have none at all, anywhere.

Even in the situation you describe I feel uncomfortably, but without tempting the fairy I'm yet to have a double deflation on my commute although I do sometimes carry two spares with me.

    Paranoia, I know.

Not paranoid. On more than one occasion I've had to change tubes twice. I always carry 2 spares AND patches.

  • dare2be have some cycling clothes in their clearance and if you use code CRYS30 you get another 30% off of the sale prices, you will be £3.95 postage per order though. There is also a code for free hand warmers if your order is over £20 D2BFH11, it does accept both codes in the basket but I do not know it you can officially combine codes as I never placed an order.

Pants, well could be worse. I have 2. 1 switches itself off, the other the case has split apart. Definately not worth £44, at £13 they are a short term disposable option. Just watch out for switching them selves off.

The bib shorts are great quality - I got a pair myself. Great service from Alpine Bikes as well - I originally ordered 4 or 5 things but the pair of gloves I ordered were out of stock so they refunded the price of the gloves as well as the postage as way of an apology.
