    Nice ride Nap.

Was contemplating one of these on offer, that frame is stunning in the flesh. Without doubt the 'sexiest' frame I have seen on a wall....

    Enjoy your new ride.

I think I will go for a Cervelo for my 40th birthday in two years time....

    Pete.
  • Are cervelo using the BB30 bottom bracket system, helping to reduce Q factor?
alot of frames seem to be going that way now

    AAAAAARGH!

Went to pay for it today and my card wouldn't work!

I've been sent a new one but not got it yet!

    :x

Plus, I've a sneaking suspicion that MrsNapD has spent a load of my CerveloCredits on LadyTat.

There may be an S2 issue :x :x

    Heh heh, sorted!

It was the Barclaycard fraud team that stopped the transaction

To be fair, I haven't used the card for yonks and then all of a sudden a big wad of money goes on it so they were suspicious.

They rang my mobile just as I left the shop but as I was riding my bike I couldn't be are5ed to stop and see who it was. I spoke with them this morning and it's all sorted.

I am now the owner of a Cervelo S2!!

Congrats! I'm so glad I did not suggest what I wanted to when you suspected the wife had melted the card. I had the same problem a number of years ago with MBNA. They let me buy the wifes engagement ring on it but stopped it after that. Quite comforting in a way to know that they do that kind of thing, albeit a PITA at the time.

Now, there's a saying on another forum I use - Pics or it didn't happen! :D

I feel quite confident with my bank, when I go to spend on my debit/visa card and they interupt!
I use my cards all over the world, and the bank, LloydsTSB, has never missed a beat.
I really don't mind phoning the bank from a shop counter in Singapore, or Norwich, etc, to verify my ID.
Better than trying to chase a credit fraud...

NapD - a superb purchase. I bought a SLC and absolutely love it. Took a while to get the right saddle set-up as it can feel a really stiff ride on rough surfaces but once I'd played around a bit it has turned out to be a really brilliant bike. From road race to Blenheim sportive it hasn't failed to impress me.

Road riding is made up of just two parts - QuadPowertm and Bling.

    MTFU, man
When she's finished serving up your dinner, tell her what you bought, and make it known that, as a domestic, she'll just have to deal with it

Let me know how that goes....

If it works, I may try the same thing

Sweet ride dude. I'm green with envy.

ALMOST bought the 56 today. Seeing your pics doesn't help. I might have to try yours out for size first! LBS also has a Soloist carbon from a few years ago for sale. Was looking it over today.

So far have decided I need to be a better rider before I spend any more big £££ on bikes!

That works - until I convince myself that more bling will make me a better rider. LOL

EDIT: Just put an offer in on one.

Can you tell me - does it just take a standard English BB? I assume you have a GXP one for your Red Cranks? (Trek has press-fit bearings).

Any other parts/bits you needed to buy to accommodate the new frame? I take it Royles built it up for you?

Standard English BB, braze on front mech.

They did build it (did it there and then but had to leave and pick it up today), went in today to get the steerer height right and get it cut...

ha ha!! I was looking for a suitable thread to show off about my new frame and you beat me to it :D
I can't wait for it to arrive. I was going to strip all the bits off my old bike rather than buy new but have just spent an hour browsing for groupsets. I'm thinking about a triple - I hope to do the Fred Whitton and I'm already signed up for Etape and there are always some hills where I would like a few lower gears. Having said that, My compact is fine most of the time - if I got a 29t cassette on the back, that could be me sorted.

Anyone know any good deals on groupsets - shimano ultegra? (CRC seem to have some good offers on)

BTW NapD - love your new bike.

No Triple but SRAM Force or Rival can normally be picked up pretty cheap and are much better than Shimano

    Thanks for those links Tom.

just said to my husband "you wouldn't believe the price of these groupsets" - to which he replied "you should just go and buy the best."
    He's a nice man.
This might be a daft question but can I use my fulcrum r1 wheels with SRAM? When I ordered them they asked if I was using with campag or shimano so the ones I have work with Shimano. You can tell that I don't really know what I'm talking about :?
How easy is it to change from using shimano to sram?

    I'm hijacking threads again

they will work with sram as thay are. sram cassettes fit shimano hubs. sram cahins can be run on either shimano or sram cassettes. they are both fully compatible.
  • 10spd Shimano cassettes have the same spacing as 10spd Shimano, and they fit on the same freehubs.

    Will work find.

If your husband said get the best, go for Red:

I'm sure NapD and Pokerface will agree that it's pretty much the best

Fine with SRAM as they are. Only a shift to Campag would require a freehub swap.
