Sounds great. Post or PM the video links when done. Yet to see the ones he did from previous rides too.

I struggle with editing software somehow (power director7), made few videos but they are way too large to upload on YouTube or Vimeo. Need a bit more time to work it out.

Yeah, I've had that problem with YouTube. I managed once using Windows Movie Maker but not sure how I did it. I remember it crashed a lot, which is nothing unusual.

    just use http://www.megaupload.com/ or http://rapidshare.com/

you can uplaod for free files of a max siz of 200 mb it is hosted on server. you copy the link they give you and put it on the forum so we download. As we my never see anything if we wait for a streaming version.
try with a small 15 mb or 30 mb to start

Last Sunday ride was awesome. Sorry to Fatfreddycat, we got lost somehow in Peaslake, while ATZ came earlier than planned and was sessioning telegraph row.

At least from now on I would know better how to program tomtom. That day we did explore Holmbury and Leith hills, and think on our next ride we absolutely must give a try to Holmbury+Leith hills. It may look a little challenging to cross from Holmbury to Leith, together with supraman nearly had spat our lungs out, but on the way back ... forget all extra tasty trails on Leith, but XC-ing back to Holmbury hill at full speed is an experience not to be missed!
All will depend on a fitness of group, and 2 variations (hard/easy climb to Leith hill) of route could be taken. Hope more riders would join us on weekend epicss too.

That blast of XC-ing , i still dream at nights!

  • Shame I missed you guys - sounds like a good day's riding. I ended up going out on my own and exploring Pitch and Holmbury, taking in all the old favourites along the way. It was good fun but nothing as epic as your ride!

It's the wife's birthday this weekend so I can't really get out on the bike, but I'll check back next week and see what the plans are for the next ride. Would be good to do a bit of an epic in preparation for my trip to Afan in April.

Could also just do a session on Leith. The pub by Wolvens Lane at Coldharbour is a popular starting point, though very little parking there. Otherwise there are all the NT car parks and do battle with the walkers.

Other than that, I've wondered if there's a cross country route by dropping from Telegraph into Holmbury St Mary then across Abinger Common and up the hill from there to Leith. There's a nasty little bit of singletrack to the right of the start of Telegraph on the side of the hill which I think can drop down to the pub down there, or maybe from the YH end.

p.s. for planning routes on the roads (I'm no road fan though), Google Street View now covers many of them around there and the odd lane as well. They've covered a vast amount of the UK now.

Finally worked out how to do videos, took me some 20+ hours. Now need a bit of time to proccess vidz, will post links to Vimeo.
Supraman...that climb I am sure will be tackled again, and XC from Leith to Holmbury hills was awesome at full speed, didn't even had to climb there.

Could anyone remind me how to post links with that URL* thingy?

Can't make it to SH this weekend, could squeeze into Swinley forest ride and even then only for few hours. Would preffer to start before 8.00 as I am very limited and must finish by 10.00, starting work at 12 lol.

Guess, will end up riding alone.

Will be out until the end of May but as soon as the last weekend comes around I’ll be joining you all for some muddy weekend warrior madness

Hello! Thought I'd join the melee.

I'm looking for people to ride with as well cos I don't have any mates around the same standard to go out with at the moment and want to ride stuff like you find round Holmbury Hill - Yogurt Pots, Barry's & the likes. I've only done a few of those trails there and don't know my way around anywhere much really. I've not found much interesting in Epping Forest (but probably due to not knowing where to look!) and have done a bit of the civilized North Downs way, and some gentle stuff round Sevenoaks, & up towards Canterbury - but would prefer nice steep singletrack with a few berms & big drops :) Where are they all?!!

I'm in East London & have a car big enough for a couple of bikes if someone wants to split petrol costs.

I am sure there are more people to join, and personally myself would welcome any rider of any fitness. We as a group as far as I remember ride as fast as the last rider in the back on uphills, on downhills ... there is always a place to overtake on trails and thats good for vidzzz too!!!

Vidzz are set out of *private* so should be watchable now! More Vidzz are on the way ...

I finish work around 13.30 ... need maybe 30mins to prepare and set off for a start around 15.00 at Peaslake! Surely can give a lift.

Today's afternoon exploring ride in Swinley was quite good, did some nice trails and in Labyrinth too ... some nice jumps there and good flowing trails too, albeit shortish ... can't really compare them to Surrey hills. Maybe only Corckscrew is somewhere there on par, but really enjoyed going from Labyrinth hills towards Corckscrew via fast flowing trail. Reminded me of YogPots in Surrey ... really makes you want to pump the bike for a take off on those rollercoster style bumps!!!

Great vids there! Like the editing. :D

The chest mounted method certainly shows up the bumps more! Looked like a good day that.

Anyway, late on weekends, no problem for me. I might even be out of bed by then :D

P.S. Never sure which one is Corkscrew in Swinley, but did you try Seagulls? It's the long rollercoaster twisty thing that's in a couple of sections going along the bottom of Swinley and comes out by the boundary of Crowthorne (or starts there depending which direction you do it from). Has concrete "tank traps" at the other end, but it's not Tank Traps which is a different trail. Quite like that one. A bit like Yoghurt Pots but longer with more up and down. Downside I find with Swinley is there are few obstacles on the ground (tree roots and the like). The trails are generally well prepared. Makes for a smooth ride, but less challenging. Then again, the full run of Labyrinth to the bottom and winding back up and around and down again is quite knackering. There are also the various jumps and drops.

I see what you talking about DKenny. Did ride those trails ... just don't know the names.

Finally I conjured up SupraMans favourite video of Telegraph Row (Sunday Epics) but don't know which music track to run alongside it ... any prefferences? Give me a clue, don't want to run computer generic track, its so personal to him there. I don't think Supra would like Geri Haliwell -Ride it- song attached to him.
