    DKenny+Redman 3rd car.

Plan for Afan, meet up at Glyncowrg at 9.00-9.30 set off. Would give plenty of time for riding and lunch. Only true Sunday warriors would ride even more after Lunch, and most probably that would be -Le serious business.

    Myself leaving home at 6.00!

    Sounds good.

Rode the Touq 12:12 race course today, did it in about 45 minutes, which is a decent time, according to a Wellard racer  also saw a guy who has a photo in the new 2011 Whyte catalouge,

    This guy

and there was a 7-8 year old on a top end Kona hardtail with an orange X.0 groupset

And on a side note 07 Marin Wolf Ridge or Gary Fisher Fat Possum with fancy paint... :?

10.30 - nice relaxing Sunday morning, hopefully you can remember the bit Richard took us to with the pond. Really enjoyed that bit.

Hmm, I was losing all sense of direction by that point!. Think it was between Leith and Holmbury St Mary. Which would mean from WB going up Holmbury, down the other side and maybe up Leith, play about there and then try find the way back via the pond. Really not sure of the route though.

Hoping to have energy enough for Afan the next day!

    Hi Plaisir

Not sure of postcode, but it's here:

    http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=walking ... =en&tab=wl

If you go to Peaslake, head out with the bike shop on your left, go past The Hurtwood Inn the carpark will be 100m or so up the road on your left.

Will pm you my number just in case.

Forecast for Afan today isn't too bad now ;), but tomorrow is still much better so was the right choice :D

Anyway, today is for Surrey Hills.

I suppose you lot in SH had some fun. It's always interesting to see what is the slowest speed possible sliding over a pesky root. The slower the better. Surely you finished early in preparations for Afan?!

You know our Surrey Hill adventures always turn into an epic :D

Well, finished about 3.30 I guess, and plenty of stops. Managed to find the route we did last week which was cool.

Bit concerned about my headset though. Gave it a bit of a service yesterday and now things aren't right. Though it wasn't quite right before but seems worse now. Will have another bash tonight but don't want to take it to Afan if it's unstable.

Could always tune it up at Glyncowrg bike shop.

Shame I couldn't join you lot, but anyway it did rain ... so probably didn't miss that much. Really very curious how does Plaisir rides these days, suppose on same levels as Gregsd. Does Cooldad outsprints Thel33ter on climbs now? The man has got real six pack now, instead of milky belly*.

    Great joke man, 10/10

Only rained for about 10 minutes while we hid under a tree fixing Plaisirs chain and rear mech.

Plaisir was keeping up on the climbs, 50+ miles a day will do that to you. He also was pretty close to me on the downs, managed to crash a few times though, and killed several trees.

As for me, no crashes :D

Have you made sure you put the right bearings on the right side, because sometimes the top and bottom ones are different sizes.

Oh well, bearings identical. Reassembled and like yesterday no play in it at all. Still something I'm not doing right given it crushed the plastic shield thingy when tightening the headset. Or maybe it's just a rubbish headset.

Anyway, good to go. Just may have to keep tightening it and watch for crud getting in the top without the shield bit.

So, Afan on then? Not keen on the early start but anyway.

DK - Make sure the preload is right, there's a lot of making sure you lean on the forks a bit to take up the slack before you tighten the stem

SH was fine. Few small muddy pools, but that's all.

Excellent ride. DK got the route sorted, Plaisir snapped his chain and ate some trees.

Thel33ter didn't fall off. But he did forget his helmet so wore mine - gave me an excuse to ride 'carefully'.

And I caught up with Plaisir twice on Barry's when he stacked it.

Rounded off with a late lunch in Peaslake.

    Pretty good day.
