Worn shock bushings. Front 2x10 big chainring I think is worn and explains the frequent attempts to derail onto small (cage stops it but keeps clunking to jump down, and sometimes manages it anyway and things get jammed). Chainguide pulley assembly is cracked and will likely not cope with Aston.
Chainring replacements are special size for the X0, 120bcd and expensive, but decided to go 1x10 anyway so got an e-13 guide sat at the Post Office that I can't collect until Sat and need a single ring solution, best of which is the MRP Bling Ring... which you can't get for love or money as they're in high demand and out of stock everywhere. Other solutions are equally hassle.
Actually, the 456 is in fine shape and could probably do Aston without bits falling off . Not sure I'd cope there on a hard tail though.0 -

Fair enough! I know what you mean about the hard tail thing, fun for some situations but I'm not sure I could take it on proper DH terrain.0 -

Guys, Carlos from http://www.enduro1.co.uk/ is looking for marshalling volunteers for the Swinley round to be held on the 14th October. I will be hosting a post race BBQ and Beer session at my place for anyone that helps out.
Let me know whether you can make it, hopefully the London Calling regulars will be able to help out and make it a success. I'm not sure of the start time (Doh!) but I will post that when I know.A Flock of Birds

I'll do it for beer, and will rope Damon in per your text.I don't do smileys.

I've read about this Enduro1 event in swinley.
So if understand correctly it is more of time trial event consisting of (XC, trails, downhill) right?
How many miles I would have to expect to do? Just to figure out if I can do this )
Thank you0 -
Dont know the exact distance, although I will on Friday. The timed sections are about 40 mins in total (I think).A Flock of Birds

Well Ive finally mapped out the Enduro course for the 14th October at Swinley. Im not going to tell you where it is or what trails (of course!), but I will say it takes in a lot of the forest, and it has a lot of the less common runs on it, and covers the whole forest end to end. For anyone that fancies a bit of not too serious racing, combined with an excellent tour of Swinley to show you around, then get yourself over to www.enduro1.co.uk and enter.
Again, also appealing for anyone who can help marshall too - I have 3 definitely confirmed so far, but Carlos could do with some help, so please volunteer if you can!A Flock of Birds

I reckon we should just arrange a ride, and sneakily press gang everyone who arrives.I don't do smileys.

out of interest, how enduro/xc is this going to be? Seems uk enduro is more timed xc runs than anything, rather than timed descents on singletrack.
Basically, is my 7 inch 35lb full sus going to be too much? For Sale:

Its swinley, so lets not kid ourselves and pretend its DH. So yes your 7 inch full sus will be a bit OTT. That said, theres plenty of time allocated for the transitions, so when you actually hit a timed section, it should be not too bad. All the timed sections are downhill overall, loosing altitude as you go, but necessity means that you will have some ups in the middle there as Swinley cant go DH for that long a distance.A Flock of Birds
