Weather's pretty ropey here right now BTW, so expect that annoying combo of rain and boiling sunshine. Blue skies moving in in the next half hour or so by the looks of it. Not sure what time I will get out of the house, but likely I will be able join you. CD/Milko keep and listen out for your phones, I will call you when I get to the gate at Seagull to find out where you're at.

Hosing down at my place. All packed up and ready to go but....
DK has just left home, so running on DK time - how unusual. BDJ has bailed.
I might just veg and watch random stuff on TV.

NIce to see so many of the gang out last week! Shame to hear about MTBCrazy's bikes though. Sucks when you get robbed.

I've booked a car for Saturday (I use a car club) and plan to be in Swinley at 10am if anyone wants to meet.

For all you fair weather riders, the Met Office Weather forecast for Ascot Racecourse nearby, is low 20s and sunny with less than 5% chance of rain. Sounds lovely!

Thought was to do Leith for a change. Could do just Leith or go a bit epic Peaslake to Leith and back or some variation of.

Would like to get over Box and Ranmore too but still need a guide for that as memory is fading, or might do some exploring in the week.
  • Guys just to make it clear. Where is the meeting place? - The Look out Discovery centre at 10am? or is it 1pm

Uncertain as yet when/where and what day. Various other suggestions flying about. I could be up for Swinley Sat, 'somewhere' Sunday if that works for people. Or other way round.

MTBB folk also asked if I wanted to do QECP Sat. Didn't seem to be worth the trip last time I went though (and that's with the new stuff) but maybe there's more to the place.

If it's any consolation after I went to see him I didn't ride my MTB for a few weeks, then had a few fairly rubbish rides, then there was almost a step change, and I feel a lot more comfortable now, like it's ingrained. Not necessarily vastly quicker (although marginally so), but more confident and feel I can push on more. I know others feel the same.

More controlled, less unecessory effort when I get it right is what I'm finding.

Had a play on Stickler @ Swinley yesterday testing the cornering on the berms but I found it still frustrating. The berms are great and nailing them nicelty but it's insanely pedally everywhere else even though all the 'sections' are non pedalling now. It's justthe trail loses all momentum on the straights very quickly. Two thirds the way through and I'm resorting to sitting again. Okay that's on the hard tail though but usually that keeps me out of the seat as it's not a comfy ride sat down.

That's just an inherent feature of the trail though innit, like so many at Swinley. Must say it's one I'd be interested to ride again now, as I always struggled to actually take the berms tight enough to fully utilise them.

Hmm, bit warm out there today. Maybe something relaxed and chilled would be better tomorrow. Tunnel Hill Sunday should work out relatively chilled too as quite a bit of shade.

There is one of those (on the long route loop) that I just cant nail for some reason - all the others are fine but this one keeps troubling me...
