Wow there are hordes of riders going to Jedi, at last so many to speak to freely.

CD we are all around you.
    What could have been (Video)

I'll choose not put too much stake into someone's opinion who is admittingly terrible though

Might be okay for something Sunday afternoon. Going to be after 1pm probably. Depending how my shoulder is after a slight argument with a tree the other evening trying out the new skills.

Tony made a valid point that there aren't trees on the trail, so there's my problem :D
  • Does anyone know if access to Swinley is going to be buggered up by the Olympic Road Race this weekend?

Nope. Unless you are travelling from Surrey Hills.

Might be busier, with loads that would normally go to Surrey Hills choosing Swinley instead?

I have to go ice skating with daughter on saturday morning, so will miss the group ride, but hoping to get to Swinley later in the day with my son. Did Rollercoaster and Deerstalker for the first time a couple of weeks ago and keen to try them again - in the dry!

Rain coming in now, but will ignore that. Some sessioning round Swinley maybe, though back route to Surrey Hills may mean I've got the place to myself.

Hmm, then again, I hear thunder now!

Ace ride yesterday. Good gang of people, and I'd forgotten how fun a dry dusty trail is! surprisingly quiet too.

Yup, fun ride, good company, excellent conditions. And always nice to have new faces.

And thunder it did. Hence the Women got very wet in the race today.

Keep holding off going out to see if it clears up but keeps chucking it down. Would be a muddy one now anyway and beers are calling now.

Orange owner here looking to go outside of London for a ride next Saturday. My usual riding partner is currently too fat and unfit. :( But I'm not! I've been to Swinley a few times and had a few long Surrey Hills rides.

    I'm based in NW London.

Keep an eye on here, something will happen.
Or suggest a place and time and work from there.

Weekend plans - some Jedi recruits I believe want to get out for a spin on fresh skills ;)

Weather - don't ask. Just accept it.

heh. Plan for me and Dan is to be in Surrey Hills on Saturday, Swinley on Sunday. At least some of it will probably involve sessioning things quite a lot so I'm not sure if we'd be all that interesting to ride with compared to normal (obviously we are fantastic company normally with our sparkling wit and repartee). But all welcome if they want, and maybe we can join up for different bits of the days if that works out better.

Hmm, heavy rain showers is it. Keep to the trees!
  • My bikes not going anywhere this weekend. I seem to have bent/egged my bottom bracket, all the inards are loose wobbly and rubbish. Cranks are all over the place. One too many awesomely massive mega gnarly drops i guess.
Hopefully source a replacement over the w/end.

Am disappointed as i was hoping to see the new Jedi skillz in action.

Weather looking much better now for tomorrow, and the odd few showers Sunday maybe.

Done a bit of sessioning in the evenings in the hills on my 'skillz'. Think Swinley would be better for the general cornering practice as a lot of nice berms there. Surrey Hills has gnarly rooty corners all over, more so having been exposed by the rains. Not that it isn't good practice also but as things feel a bit reset at the moment it's like running before I can walk.

And I'm rethinking about going tubeless. Might do it after all as I have the rims anyway. Just might make it more grippy on the rooty cornering or at least convince me there's more grip.

Whee! Cracking day that. Shall we say 11am Walking Bottom? Definitely up for Swinners as well but it always feels like more of a Sunday place to me and I'm certainly up for both.

I'm up for Swinley on Sunday. Any time.
Need to be home between 1 and 2 tomorrow so could only do something early (which I'm not good at) or latish. Or I might just watch other people sweat on TV.

Good for me. Might be a few bits of sessioning bits from Me, Dan & Mike if we feel like it so if you get bored feel free to head on. Depends what we get out of it really. Just up for general mucking about really as usual.

If I get bored watching the children play I might. Or rest. Or show you how it should be done.
