Looks good to me. Is there somewhere I can get a pass or do I have to go to Go Ape, get one and come back to meet you guys?

Give one of us £555 in small unmarked bills and we can get you in

Seriously, you don't need one, but if you feel like you should pay, you get them from the lookout center place

How about 5pence and a photo of one of the mods wives in a compramising position with a frisky walaby?

    Deal.
Don't worry, it's more of a 'voluntary' thing. As a taxpaying Bracknell resident I feel entitled anyway.
DK has one, so anyone asks we just pretend we're his kids.

If it makes you feel better, you can buy a day pass online before you go from the gorrick website. I will come find you at the clubhouse at 1:15 ish.

Also, in other news, someone must have cancelled for Wednesday at Cwncarn as I managed to get a pass. Happy days.

That's fine then. The last time I rode at Swinley it cost me £12 for what amounted to a half hour ride on some sandy fire roads with a load of whineing kids and a look at a pond so I figure the buggers owe me anyway. On top of that, I got T-boned by another rider in the car park which resulted in the death of my PRST-1. Didn't realise the frame got cracked in the accident until I traced the source of the creak that developed next time I rode the bike.

I reckon they do, anyway greedy buggers want to start charging for parking anyway.
So rest of us 1 at tennis club on College Ride, Ben at clubhouse at 1.15.
Will send DK a wake up message at 4am to make sure he gets up.

Worth a trip anyway - some of us less heroic types (me) are planning to do the red anyway, with maybe a run down just for fun. There will probably be a few spares on the day, plus I'm sure someone will be kind enough to let you have a go on their ticket.

OK. Hopefully you'll get another chance soon. I'm definitely wanting to get a ride in somewhere this weekend so should be able to return them then if that works out.

Bit of fun at Cwncarn today. Heroes did the downhill, I stuck to Twrch. Good fun, even if it did rain all day.

Lol, yes it did rain alot. Its a good place to go to though, a morning on the DH followed by Lunch and a blast round the Twrch was just the ticket for a fun day out!

I gotta do this this year. Ideally after getting a bit better at the DH bit.

Anybody out this weekend? I imagine it's going to be a bit boggy. Can get you your tyres back Ben if it's convenient.

We should be up to something - hopefully new pads will arrive tomorrow.
Wore out yesterday - must have been the conditions, and nothing to do with my pussy like riding style.

Surely will be mud out there now! Hose pipe bans, pah!

Need some servicing on the Nomad though. Lower link definitely got some play in it. How would you tell if it just needs greasing up or if the bushings(?)/bearings are gone? Bolts are all torqued up right. Following the SC quick maintenance guide they should be okay if tight, so next step is greasing up. Need the grease gun etc though which I don't have, so may pop into P&S tomorrow or Sat.

Anyway, Sat, got a morning meeting(!) - may be able to get out on the trails from 11.30 onwards though. Sun should be available. Weather may say otherwise though. As long as it's not chucking it down before I get out the door then maybe I'll get out the door.

If there's play, replacement. Too late for grease at that point.

Now you see, if you'd come to Cwmcarn, you could have borrowed my grease gun.

  • Cwmcarn was so amazing, my favourite day's riding ever probably... But then all days riding are pretty good. New aches and pains have been popping up throughout the day though, I didn't think it'd be quite so tough physically. The bike's literally coated in mud as well, I haven't got round to cleaning it yet. Anyway thanks to everyone for a great day, we must do it again sometime...

    Good point.

Wouldn't have been fit for Cwm anyway. Come down with some mystery illness. Kind of easing off today but not sure so don't know if I'll be out at the weekend. Feel that maybe it would be better if I get out, but not sure it's a good idea.

Sunday either Swinley or Surrey Hills.
    Or any suggestions?

At the moment I'm okay to get out. May pile up on the drugs just before in case.

Looking at heavy rain around 4-ish.

I might even - shock! - go out there early for a spin and can meet up 2.30.

Not that early then. Heading off shortly though, be there about 2.30 and see who's there or not.

Sunday - Surrey Hills, looking like light rain in the afternoon. Morning perhaps, Walking Bottom car park in the absence of other ideas and the usual stuff. 10-ish, 11-ish?
