Since nearly all week has been dry in UK, anyone up for Wales trip this Saturday? Cwmcarn-Afan Whites or even epic Wall trails? Would take some 2.5hours to drive each side.

It always rains when I go to Wales, without fail, so... :D

Not sure I'm ready for Wales yet, and need to get the bike ready (well the brakes), or better still a better bike (where did you get the Zesty again? :D)... and plenty of armour I think.

This Saturday,Sunday will not rain, nor did it rain for nearly whole week, I urge Dkenny to come! We need nice photos, + you know you will regret that you didn't come. As far as it stands ... Plaisir, me, Supraman are itching to go. Anyone else? On average 1car can take 3bikes.

    Hi Guys
I really want to get more into MTB.
I do what i can in the local parks but dont really get what i need adrenaline wise.
For that i hit the jumps in trent park, enfield but i'd rather be blasting down a lumpy swooping single track.

I dont know exactly the point in this post? Anyone got on locations or rides happening near barnet i suppose?

Not sure if I can afford to go out both days this weekend but I would sure like to hit wales if possible.

Adem I live up north of london not too far from you I think, somewhere like chicksands, woburn or possibly aston hill are decent local'ish choices if you fancy them.

Adam, if you have a car ... you have variety of places to ride, and that's within 40-50 miles drive. You would better link up with Bungalistic, as he isn't far from where you live and rides better places in that part of London.

As it stands now, Supra,me,Plaisir confirmed for Sunday Welsh trip. Planning to arrive to Afan VC before 9.00. Most probably will ride Whites trail to get a taster as think Wall would be too epic for the first time. If more people wants to come, drop a line ... might conjure up an additional car with 3-4spots.

If it can be arranged that I can car share this sunday then i'm in for wales, alternatively I can drive if I get some help with the petrol cost.

Otherwise if anyone just wants to explore somewhere else at leith I'll happily do that too.

I need to have a think so will shout out tomorrow. I'm only half way through a whole week of nights out and I'm already struggling so might need a saturday lay-in :)

If I don't go to Wales, am going exploring around Leith.

Well i'm up for exploring leith and that other trail you think you have an idea where it is, i'd also like to run summer lightening a few times and get a better feel for it.

I can only really go out one day biking as I just don't have enough cash to fuel the car for two trips, so it's eith sunday wales or sunday leith for me I think.

I'd be up for Follow Me if i get paid next week too.

Hmm. Okay, if it's Sunday that gives me time to get stuff ready, so maybe I'm up for it then. Need to look at the brakes and about time I got some shin/knee pads, though mainly due to the shin damage I get so often.

p.s. Afan adds an extra half hour, at least going by Google Maps. Seem to recall the stretch from Newport to Port Talbot (think that's the turn off) used to take me more like an hour, but that was some 15 years ago in a much slower car :D

Full face helmet... seriously worth considering? First time on any of the Welsh stuff and I'm happy enough to take it easy. Noting I'm not on a DH bike anyway.

Car N1= Plaisir, Popstar, Supraman. Car N2 =? ... if someone preffers to fit a bike rack on back of their car (upto 3bikes) I can lend it, it will suit most of cars apart from conservatory style* back end like Dkenny's civic.

Likewise, I've got a spare high rack (no need for number plate) now as it won't fit the Civ.

I can get 1 person + 1 bike extra in my car if you don't mind bikes sitting on top of each other, but I'm over in Woking.

If anyone is going for a ride tomorrow or Sunday let me know...

Afternoon would be best for both though espically Sunday if I'm out drinking tte night before which err tends to go for a while

I don't have a car thought, I need to get one! I'm North West London between Harrow on the hill and Wembley stadium oh TFL have closed the vast majority of trains on Sunday as well for change.

Dkenny, does Bungalistic travels with you ... or you travel with Bungalistic's car? Sorry to ask daft questions, still waiting Atz's reply ... and there is always racing guy around called Gregsd. Actually if Gregsd comes, we could use his legs to pedal our bikes uphill !!!

I'm not sure about it to be honest. Got loads of work to do at the weekend so I'm just not sure if I have the time for the trip sadly. Next weekend being a bank holiday would have been easier but busier at the trails I guess. Also, if bikes are going in the car rather than ON the car, I'd guess both bungalistic and dkenny only have two seats in the car including the driver :)

Atz if you'd rather just do an explore round Leith on sunday i'm fine doing that, I probably can't afford Wales this weekend anyway, not without a bike rack and full car to make up the petrol cost anyway.

If I can get 3 ppl in my car (i'd have to pick ppl up on the way then I guess) I could go to Wales but i'm just as happy ride leith, pitch etc.... if some folk are about as usual. Let me know as soon as you can so I can sort out my plan :)

I'll hit Leith for a couple of hours on Sunday. There's some exploring to be done and it means I can ride and still get some work done.

Looks like just me then in my car if there's no others going. Got 1 space going though for anyone who doesn't mind their bike in the back.

Petrol costs, yeah whatever. I'm a contractor :D. Well I do care, but it's a lot more efficient doing motorways than my daily commute, so shouldn't be so bad. Oh, and there's the bridge cost on top though (damn Welsh).

Unsure about my skills for Afan, but will see how it goes. Have to try it some time :D
