Both days flexible. Brakes need sorting out again. Think the quick fix is not enough and may really need a proper bleed. Though I think the real fix is to get rid of those crappy Juicys.

Can't do Saturday - school, and a parade on Sunday morning, so best we can do is a few hours at Swinley Sunday afternoon.

May pootle around either Surrey Hills or Tunnel Hill on Saturday if/when I've finished fiddling with the bike. Damn thing is creaking worse than ever despite stripping it down recently. Usually fixes it for months when I do that. Might just soak the whole thing in a bath of oil.

    *cough* new frame *cough*

Aaaaanyway... I have a clunk-less Mondraker back. Am up for a quick pootle tomorrow but have limited time (so might end up on the road again) and Sunday is open. As usual prefer morning, blah blah blah.
  • I'm gunna be pootling around Swinley saturday morning from around 10am lone ranger style unless i accidentally bump into a regular.

Out of interest, and talking frames, do you ride/rate a Foxy RR?

I ride a Dune (like Supraman) and I very much rate the suspension and what they do. It's a great bike; significantly better than I am and very capable. It's easier to ride uphill than my Trance was and not too heavy either.

No idea what time I'll be free on Sunday, probably 1:30pm is the earliest I'll be able to get to Swinley, still getting dark after 5, so that gives a good few hours.

Are you guys riding the Surrey Hills next weekend (1st/2nd October)?

I've been asked to take my 15 year old nephew out riding, and rather than risk the Nirvana Freeride (see this thread), I thought I'd take up cooldad's offer of a guided tour.

My nephew lives in Reigate/Redhill, so we'll be reasonably local. He's young and keen, but a relative beginner and not yet very fit - he can handle the climbs but not at a pace, and I'd get in to trouble if I bring him home too beat up.

I can probably make it on Sunday next week. Saturday is our Christmas party? in France and will only get back quite late so might be a bit weak which should fit in with your plans.
Sure we can get a bunch together.
DK we'll need your sense of direction.

As for this Sunday, anyone else for afternoon ride. Thel33ter has a parade on Sunday morning so we can't make it any earlier. I would post a pic of him in full dress uniform but then I'd have to sleep with one eye open.

Oh yeah, Will and I are meeting at Starveall on Sunday at 9. Nothing "Epic" just Leith and Holmbury although depending on time and legs may go further.

2 - that's the number after Swinley in my post (sorry couldn't resist)
The l33ter has a parade and thinks he can make it about 1.30, so I'm just giving a bit of just in case time, plus he'll probably have to ride from his side.
I had my first ride for a few weeks this morning and was shagged after a few hours. Nice big pileup in the 'pelaton' of idiot kids though. One landed up in a ditch. Upside down.

MTBCrazy, you need to team up with mein wife. She is pathetic. I went faster on New Stickler with a trailer than her. Shambolic.

She wouldn't take any tips/advice from me at all ... that's just plain wrong. I wasn't persuasive at all, just asked if she wanted to learn anything to which was barked at back: - You stoopit, I'm not going to ride this shaity trails after what happened to me in CYB!

    God bless.

If she won't take advice from you, it just proves she's got a brain.

No cooldad, it just must have been hot weather on that day. Her brains were boiling.
