Thel33ter crashed. I dont believe it.

A big monster one, although he was the only one brave/dumb/oblivious (delete as required) to try that particular jump. Ended up headbutting a log.

First biggish one since Aston, this one was also more painful, although I did bounce very well.

would one more be able to join you if out this Saturday?. ...... planning on coming over to Surrey Hills fairly early Sat if possible to see what all the fuss is about and would rather join some guys who knew where they're going rather than me try to use a map poorly!.

Welcome to join anytime, but it looks like rides planned for the weekend will be Swinley on Saturday afternoon and either SH or Tunnel Hill on Sunday.

But now you've posted you might spur some lazy people to get out earlier.

I'm riding hungover somewhere on Sunday. Might be on the road depending when I get my lazy backside out of bed but if I'm up early enough, the MTB might be dragged out.

I vote Swinley on SAT! Would like Surrey Hills more, but that's pushing it a bit. If strike another rider to share petrol costs then it's a goer.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE from Ministry of Radness

Following this video got me thinking it's an absolute must to conjure up routes for our event. Route will have to have opportunities for an overtake at places and not be any longer than 10min of heated riding.

Leith hill - video suggests some nice routes but not sure how to link them up, apart from our mix of Popstar's adventures with DH and XC trails.

Redlands - not sure if it's open, but awesome singletrack to kill bikes.

Holmbury - YogPots, other rooty trail next to telegraph

Pitch - cluster of selected T trails with finish at Graveyard would be awesome.

Winterfold all those hills offer some shweet singletrack to race on but just can't figure out which trails could mix with wedgie.

Will pass a moment of glorified thinking to you razzers! Drop a line with your suggestions.

There's one section in the Leith video after the descent and climb from the tower which I don't recognise. After that it's a bit of Summer Lightning & Wolvens lane.

Think that would have been done weekday and/or early or late as there's virtually no one else about. Would be impossible on a normal Weekend Warrior outing like ours.

Leith hill - Tower/heading towards Play area/Summer Lighting. Not sure about Wolverns lane etc. Less climbs, better.

Think the bestest stage races would be in Swinley.

then some really strong at 10% or so 17_5_orig.jpg combining it with French race instructions and some video coverage of Popstar Co + some additional wacky challenges along the race? Any thoughts?

p.s. Sorry Supra, I had to reveal our secret plans to crowds about long planned wacky races.

Have I stepped into a parallel universe or is popstar making less sense than ever. He's confusing the shit out of me.

Weren't you around when he announced the Wacky Races plan earlier this year?
Although I must admit I have no idea where the biscuits fit in, unless it's some bizarre French thing.
The beer seems a good idea, presumably as a prize and not a starter, or things could get very messy.

But I don't think there's ever been any doubt about the parallel universe.

    Hi,

I have recently moved to London and have no idea of where can I ride xc mountain bike here. I have heard about Epping, surrey, but don't have car and still don't know if I can get there by train.

If anyone lives in London and could give a hand with this I would really appreciate it, if you don't mind I would like to meet you and share a ride with you.

Thanks in advance for your help, I am looking forward to riding with you.
    Bruno.

SH is fine with me. Said I'd give mtbcrazy a lift from here so just need to coordinate train times.
Presumably Peaslake/Pitch side after all the rain.

10am Surrey Hills @ Peaslake then (Walking Bottom car park as usual, though I expect it to be busy).

All these people about without cars though! :D

@bruno_m - Surrey Hills and/or Swinley Forest are the places you want to go to for south side of London. Not sure what's about around Epping but there are people here who are more towards that area and know it. There are places north of London of interest, though many of us here frequent Surrey Hills & Swinley.

Surrey Hills is just massive and full of trails of all kinds, but need to find people to show you where they are really. Welcome to come along tomorrow. Swinley is great too. Large forest near Bracknell containing loads of trails and plenty of singletrack.

SH trains, Dorking or Gomshall are nearest places to get to.
Swinley - not sure, I guess Bracknell is easiest.
