    But not all wrong
It now looks like I have been recruted to lead a ride in Swinley
As I will be taking off for a few weeks of skiing next Sunday I will have to meet you all in 2011 instead
Unless someone want to guide me either Monday or Thursday next week (got site visits to conduct in the area so as soon as that's done I will be heading for the trails)

I'm off Monday and Thursday - thel33ter is with me for the first half of the holidays so we can arrange something. We'll be riding anyway.

Might want to check if there's an event on. WB car park has been packed on Sunday mornings in recent weeks due to events (not counting Slushy Sunday last week). Though they seem to clear off by 10.30. Not sure how you'd check, though events are supposed to be officially registered with Hurtwood now but haven't seen the recent ones posted on their site.

Talking of Hurtwood, they did a survey recently amongst the "friends" of Hurtwood, but seems few stressed the need for more MTB trails (which was an option). Worse is reduced donations and removal of grants could mean they'll prioritise on activities. Just hope it doesn't result in restricting access.

Think survey was before you joined. Was just simple stuff but did have a few questions that included bike stuff, like under reasons why you use the area and if you'd like them to build more trails. I said yes to all that of course. Odd they only did the survey amongst the "friends" though as they'd get much better response with a wider group and possibly some more donations. I suspect most of the friends are walkers :(.

Depends on wether you want to do an all day ride, or a few hours messing around, cause its getting dark around 4 now.

If you are up for a all day ride I am more than willing ;-)
But I need to pay a visit to the site either first thing (10am or last 1630)
This said could always put the lights on an make it a mixed day/night ride starting around 1300 and finish whenever regardless of light conditions

I'll be happy tp give a bit of building a go too, and free next Sunday for something.

@French Artisto and Stan - 10 would be best then, cause Cooldad doesn't have any lights, and I only have a huge bottle cage/bar mounted beast that is fine for commuting, but not much else.

Should be around next weekend. Potential (likely) hangover Satuday, but Sunday is good. Happy to help out with trail building also though I know nothing about such stuff. Just point me in the direction of a shovel or whatever and where to point it and sure I can manage that.

im kinda having trouble looking for a 28mm socket from shops, no body sells them around my local shops unfortunately. im trying to change my friends front shock spring and its a Manitou nixon elite. i went to a bike shop to have them change but apparently they dont have a 28mm socket and didnt manage to fix it.

so if there anyone coming tomorrow with a 28mm socket i would appreciate if you could bring it and lend it to me for a couple of mins just to change the springs. thanks

    Biggest I've got is 22mm.

Never heard of a bike needing a 28mm!!

I do have a big wrench though that might fit if it can be done with a wrench.

I'll have a van full of tools with me tomorrow. I'm sure I've got a 28mm in my toolbox that stays at home as well. One way or another, I'll be able to sort you out.

Will be at Walking Bottom by about 09.45 so I can check tyre/shock pressures and warm up before we leave.

Why not just use an adjustable spanner? It's all I've ever done!

We'll be up at Walking Bottom tomorrow at 10, if I can work out which group you are I'll come and say hello!

@Andy, thanks mate, really appreciate your help, i will be there around 945 too or maybe earlier.

@njee20, the nut is not beveled, its actually deep so an adjustable spanner wouldnt work.
  • Woo Hooh ! It's all change again - I'm out to play tomorrow - yeah baby !
