Won't be out this weekend but good to see you back around even temporarily. So, who else for the grand bash (well, 3 of us propping up a bar so far)

If there are enough of us, we could imagine reserving out a room and get popstar to show and comment in live all/ some of his movies.

would probably pe a laugh to see how we struggled earlier in the year. would nearly need a best of crash of the year.

What thel33ter lacks in style he makes up for in exuberance. Until he hits the ground anyway.

Could make it for some liquid refreshment in town. Fridays or Saturdays preferred (the latter may rule out a Sunday Warrior ride though :D).

Can't do the 3rd though (and as that's a beer night I might struggle with doing the 4th).

    Pics: http://www.flickr.com/photos/deadkenny/ ... 471625604/

Nothing amazing. Mostly scenery. Didn't take all that many and the grim conditions didn't make for good photos. Still didn't get any decent action shots... apart from the waterfall epic of course! ;)

Have to wait for Popstar's action footage.

Sunday - looks like only a few flakes of snow this weekend so should be okay, just a bit cold. Peaslake or somewhere else?

DKenny you lazy. I allready did 2 movies while you fuffed around with pix. Once have a bit more free time will conjure up part2 with photos.

Supra sign me for drinks in town, you clearly can't start drinking without advice on style from Popstar or Cooldad.

I didn't film Abel unfortunately as it will only look best if filmed from 3rd POV. But boy did I fly there, at least it felt as I was ameaazin?!

DKenny needs some kicks to improve his creative style in photography, the man never asked us to ride -Rad style doode. But that mysterious picture with waterfall is the real beggining of DKenny's signature photos.

Was more interested in the riding than taking photos, else wastes time. Besides I'm usually at the back after all the action has happened :D.

But processing photos always takes me ages. Usually because a) I can't be bothered and b) I like to tweak them and end up spending far too long adjusting this and that. Used 24 in the end out of 150 shot. Most not much use or same shots at different exposures etc. Still, 150 is fairly low for me for 4 days.

There are a couple held back that I want to try HDR with, but I need to get the right software to do HDR photos, and play about with it.

I screwed it up. It was dark in those trees so was trying some shots on flash but had the wrong mode on the flash. They all came out black :(.

Wouldn't have been enough power on that flash anyway. I need to take my big flash gun :D...

... except I don't understand how to use it. The manual is massive!

About average. Always take far more than I use. Rapid shutter means multiples of same shot and hope one is reasonable, but I was also doing "bracket" exposures because of the dodgy light. One under, one over and one normal exposed. But the overall amount I took was low. Penmachno got virtually no shots. Think it was too depressing :D

Have got an action shot of Apprentice but it was too blurred really. Less camera shake but with blurred action it could have been fantastic.

Upload Apprentice shot please, even if blurred. Some shots in Penmachno were used in part2 movie ... and that shot speaks for itself!

DK don't you worry about carrying a dslr while riding? I wouldn't have the guts to carry my 50d and expensive lens on my bike. Maybe i should mtfu lol.

Popstar those rocky trials dont seem like they would be much fun on a hard tail lol. Great video.

Nah. The old D70 has been battered about a lot and taken it all over the place, and still works fine. Goes with me skiing too and I've taken many tumbles with it. They're rugged and well built so barely a scratch on it, plus in my Camelbak Hawg it gets some fairly good padding.

It's an old camera so got past the "mustn't get it dirty" mode. Thinking about getting a more professional second body for serious stuff and the D70 as the spare for this kind of stuff and backup body at events like air shows. Though have thought about getting one of the newer cheap bodies for the bike as they're smaller.

I would be more worried about the lens :). My 10-22mm cost me over £700. Apart from damaging it my concern would be the damage it would do to me when i landed on it lol. Its a shame because some of the best landscape photos I could ever take have been available to me only when out on my bike. Other problem is that the camer won't fit in to my camelbac which is the one smaller than yours. I think when the summer comes i will def take it out and must ride very ver carefully :)

By the way have you tried a gorillapod? I have one for my canon. They are great. Small and light enough to carry on your bike and would allow you use a smaller aperture for great depth of field in those landscape photos (f/8-f/11 for example) without suffering from camera shake resulting from increased exposure time. You could use your bike to wrap it on to.

I have a lowe pro bag that I clip to the straps of my camelbak and hangs in front of my chest. Works fine (use carabiners though).

I don't take my expensive lenses. Just the cheap one... only £500!

Well it's my all rounder 18-200. Not an amazing lens though has vibration reduction stuff, but good for travel. Like the camera it's taken many knocks but there's no sign of it being affected at all. They are solid lenses. Lens glass is pretty thick and near impossible to shatter, so only scratching could be a risk, but shoved into my Camelbak the thing is wedged in tight and can't move.

Landing on it is fine as the Camelbak has good padding on the back, not to mention the bladder with water in it, and I don't usually fall on my back.

I just ignore the £1500 quids worth of camera kit, on top of £1k+ of bike when I'm riding :D

Reminds me, I should really check the away from home cover on my insurance!
