I'm in a 4th floor flat and one of our resident rodents ate the coriander, basil and oregano plants, roots and all, that I had on the balcony. I've had to settle for lettuce and radishes this year - because they're not good enough for these pests. (Yes, I've been outwitted by squiddles, I admit it. My plants are more fragile than my ego...)

I lived on a third floor flat with my wife till recently and she grew herbs and vege on the fire escape - squirrels used to pay regular visits despite our cats - though don;t remember the herbs ever being touched - not by the squirrels anyway - the cats used to like a nibble.

Spider next, then a mouse I think.

    It ends with a horse.

I think it's birds that eat spiders, then cats eat birds.

I don't have a cat, but I do have a dead duck in the freezer.

Just knowing I have now begun my 14 days off work has left me feeling calm and strangely - i think the word is "happy".

    What is this "happy" ?

Male drivers seem to think they are perfect, go figure.

Cold, wet and windy today. I didn't go out because I'm not tough enough. My drivetrain is, however, looking very sparkly-clean. That'll be the silver lining, I suppose - because we had every effing cloud up above us!

Starting to cloud over now - must get the washing off the line or else it will get wet.

I get the occcasional "urge" for sweeties, you know, the jelly "babies dummies" covered in sugar. I prefer the orange, yellow or red ones.

Not to fussed on the green, brown or white ones.

I used to work in a jelly baby factory - I've made hundreds and thousands of them.
