I was talking about htem being smaller than Trek or Giant, which they most certainly are.
Plus is it possible, or even desirable, to run a business on "socialist attitudes"?
Workers' co-operatives? There are a hell of a lot of them around, many doing well. My bike has a label saying "Made by the Orbea co-operative".0 -

I agree with you about Trek, Scott, Specialized, they're not my bag but each to their own... and that Contador chap has been riding Treks all year, got no taste that bloke you must dislike him ...only joking
Is there any reason why you wouldn't say what you ride then?? I found that a bit odd of you, I ride a Cervelo myself BTW0 -
I couldn't give two hoots what any of you ride although it could be taken as telling in some instances.
A fair question yes but as I have said before there are some people that I have no respect for so will not answer any question they put to me, let alone read the posts of others.Contador is the Greatest0 -

I reckon you ride a grifterGasping - but somehow still alive !0 -
Does it really matter?.....do you all not think that all the top end bikes perform admirably? I honestly believe a top end Trek will perform aswell as a legendary top end Colnago? And that goes for Giants,Scotts & Specialized's aswell...at £3000+ a pop you would expect for something special?
Ive got 3 bikes, training bikes a Focus Variado ~£850 , Middle Bike is a Orbea Vitesse ~ £1500, top Bike is the Orbea Orca £3000+...as expected the Orca is a different machine altogether and a pleasure to ride...but at the price it ought to be!
I reckon any 'top' machine would be excellent....and I reckon guys who want a De Rosa or a Colnago is for the sheer history and prestige....lovely bikes right enough!...but so are most others at the same price?
I dont reckon it would make much difference whether a top pro team had Colnagos or Times?0 -

Way out of his price league. He's probably still on his old Bianchi. Maybe a Colnago at best.0 -

And therein lies the problem.... If I write that I support your to not conform to the dirty masses will you read it? Is this how to converse from now on?0 -
I'm going to out myself as a member of the great unwashed and say that Pegoretti is possibly the most fugly bike I've ever seen; it looks like it's been dipped in a vat of sick. I know 'real cyclists' are supposed to think anything Italian is the epitome of style and grace but c'mon, in this case the emperor's starkers, surely?0

I know the picture is a cackalogue one but I was wondering whether FF was posting the responsorium suggesting he had one or that he was just posting a picture of one of those hideous machines.
I agree regarding Pegoretti, man, they is ugly.
And when I say ugly, I mean uglier than this -

You ride a blacked out Giant so this is not a surprising comment from you. There is an alarming number of folks who seem content in opting for black and steer well clear of anything remotely colourful...Contador is the Greatest0 -

Exactly. There is some personal preference sometimes (I know of a pro who was on a Colnago and tried a friends Pinarello Paris and prefered it)Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

I don't doubt for a second that the Pegoretti Responsorium is a beautifully built bike made out of the finest steel, well beyond my meagre salary, and I don't have a problem with bikes which aren't black. I've had red ones, blue ones, white ones and silver ones. I love masterful paintwork created by masters as much as yourself but in my opinion, the paintjob on that Peggy is absolutely gipping.
So, as Master Of All Things Aesthetically Perfect, what do you ride?Let's close our eyes and see what happens0 -
There's stylish colourful and then there's Pegoretti. I remember seeing one that had this woodland theme that my 5 year old daughter could do!
In fact, stand by...0 -
WTF?

Here it is, not woodland theme but just awful!

Hmmmm...nothing wrong with colourful I agree, but in this case the artist in question seems to have though 'if two colours are good, then fifteen are better, and it doesn't matter how they're applied or if the finished result is gaudy enough to scare horses'. I have to say, life must be tough if you're 'alarmed' at people riding black bikes. That and people on the internet not taking you and your thoughts on cycling quite as seriously as you'd like.0 -
NapD, the Pegoretti you posted above must certainly belong to someone with a total lack of sense and style. It should be seen as a demonstration as how to totally ruin an excellent frame.Contador is the Greatest0

Your Giant is an expensive bike and you could have bought a De Rosa or a Colnago or another 'beautifully built bike'' for a similar price.

Colnago's paint schemes are quite possibly un-rivalled. When I get one it will be one of the special ones.
Here are some great examples of Colnagos:
