HI guys and girls, I am new to the road forum so if this is in the wrong plac then i do apologise but unlike the mtb section you do not have a "my ride" page so i didnt know where to put my topic ? SO i am giving it a go in here!

I recently had my unique rockhopper prodisc stolen from my new house, the bike i agree isnt special in itself but what i had done to it was. (bling bling lightining quick forum in mtb), so i was naturally gutted.

Anyway this gave me a chance to return to my first passion of road racing and time trialing and with the insurance payout i went and purchased a Specialized tarmac elite 2010 one of the first that were out, i am delighted to say it rides like a dream and feels so responsive that i cannot describe it!!! Very very happy with my purchase which was even sweeter seeing as the firm i work for gave me a 20% discount on the order just by givng a code online.
This is the bike in its glory:>>>

GET that dork disc out of your back wheel before anyone else sees it!

    And the reflectors!

Great bike, you can't go wrong with a Specialized.

Would strongly recommend you get some clipless pedals to maximise your on-road experience. Edit: Just noticed they are clipless,my bad. But still, some proper racing pedals would be worthwhile, SPD SL.

very nice! - agree with above comments though!

I nearly got the barmac wedge for my s-works roubaix - they are really nice - didn't like the cabling options for my campag groupset though.

stefano it is the angle mate, but yeah the geometry has got more Giant like ( maybe cause the frames are in essence giant ones ? done by the same firm).

I do love it though it rides so smooth and is very light indeed,
Gkerr4 what is this about cable groving then i read tht when i orderd it on the web site but i have no idea what it is? The place i got the bike from had already installed the bars so i couldnt see, i was thinking that i would have to do tht myself and was fully prepared to do so as i wanted to have more of the carbon and graphics showing along the top of the bar but instead they have taped upto about 2" away from the stem so only a little is showing which is kinda dissapointing but oh well?
I do love the way the lines flow though very streamlined and YES i have just done the following : Removed disc cause it is a stupid thing to add to a bike although they only do it to protect it in transit, and i have removed the reflectors also, i do have a spair pair of spd 540's from my pro disc but i am ordering either the speedplay frogs or some ti eggbeaters havent decided yet!!

Any other sugestions let me know and thanks for comments guys....

More images for you to look at: they were taken at the same time so the crap stuff is still on it lol !! and as you can see i have started blinging it already, but beign a carbon frame as i am finding out it is harder to find stuff to buy for it as the sizes are diff to alloy, never mind i dont want to spoil it too much anyway just the odd hint here and there. Got a pair of S-Works bottle cages coming in a day or so

    Hi all,

Still waiting for the bottle cages but i have some new pics wih a couple of sublte mods, (note the jockey wheels and the chainring bolts as you look). PS it does look better without the training disc (lol), and the reflectors doesnt it ?

Am loving this more each day i ride it, went out on a 50 mile ride this morning, was absolutly lovely, so stealth-like when it moves its amazing..

Anyway here are the updated snapshots:

Very nice bike mate, I like the subtle red accents that really make the bike stand out.

Don't ruin it with a big fat red bottle cage!!

These would be the ideal bottle cage, I use them on my Look which has a similar red and black theme -

And here they are in full colour and loking good, especially seeing as i just realised that the match the colour of the end plugs so they dont look out of place

  • Love it, that's one of the nicest bikes i've seen. The 2010 spesh bikes are the best looking of all the big brands IMO.

Lovely bike that - not so sure on the red cages though... - they do carbon versions of those which are exposed carbon weave and red accents - which look so good I was thinking of changing my campag ones for them!

So.. - lets start talking upgrades - i'd change the seatpost for the S-Works version to match your barmac - http://www.evanscycles.com/products/spe ... 2-ec018208

and you definately NEED these wheels:
    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Fulcr ... 360029724/

Oh also - my comment earlier - basically it is a struggle to route cables on the barmacs which is why they have taped them up - there is no other way of containing the cables. This is even worse on campag gears (which I have on my roubaix) as the gear cable should be hidden too.

HI gkerr4, I see the seat post and am considering it, but the wheels (umm NO !) have spent far to much money to warrent buying them in the forseable future lol lol, the cages match the end plugs and the red in the graphics on the frame so it does tie in colour wise.
Glad you like the bike mate am spending careful time on glaming it up but only subtle glam not extreme, laters mate. OH yeah re: cable routing so is it not ok then to have les tape on the top of bars without more cable falling forward ( if you know what i mean?)

Na they look ok napoleonD, same colour as the end plugs and the red in the frame as i have said before so they are colour co-ordinated within the bike maybe its because they are full red and not black with red graphics? But i like them anyway they stand out against the black and i like tht!

This is the latest picture of my ride , i hope you can appreciate why i wanted the red bottle cages now? the tape was handpicked so i hope you all aprove as i do,

( p.s. i do also have the splash tape in only black and red, but i thought seeing as there is a fair amount of white in the colour scheme it would be nice to try this one too!)

    What you think?

You are clearly the Gok Wan of Specialized. When not blinging my ride and taking photo's do you ever ride it?

Really nice bike! You're obviously really pleased with it so why care what anyone thinks?

Do you do anything with Scotts?.............

About you bike I do agree with the bottle cage and bar tape comments above but if YOU like it then it is ok.

Bottles cages look okay, but would be better if colours reversed i.e. black with a bit of red.

What I think would really set the bike off though is white bar tape and white saddle. My brother has a similar coloured Pinarello and his looked the nuts when he made these changes.
