Emu had 2 punctures but only 1 tube. We've all been there, having to faff around with glue and patches.. :roll:It's the vibe of the thing.0

Oh bugger Bad luck Emu. That was the curse somebody set at BH then - who said 'thank gawd we've not had any punctures' or words to that effect? :-)
Yep you definitely put the hoodoo on me.
After Box Hill I was cramping severely - I couldn't even keep up with the semi pedestrian pace immediately after the break. I hoped once I warmed up if I kept speed I may catch you at the lights near Epsom (as a very long shot  ).....but then....
First Puncture hooning down the last hill before we turn right and left for Epsom. Turn around was rather quick but then second puncture (on same wheel) about 2 miles from Surbiton.
Had to patch this one, and because it was quite a severe puncture was a bit reluctant to pump up to full pressure as I was doubtful that the adhesive patches I had would hold.
Upon closer inspection of the tyre have a quarter inch cut in my tyre - so to prevent any more punctures put an adhesive patch on the inside of the tyre aswell.
Initially I was majorly annoyed but sitting on a brick fence patching up in the sun thought upon reflection of the times in Winter changing tubes so not so bad.
Got me home, but limped.
In the end my avg dipped to 28.5 kph and hamstrings were screaming by the time I got home.

I feel great today following that ride I was a bit disappointed it all finished so quickly (then again perhaps thats cos I was the last to turn up having done the first half on my own - I did the whole morning commute today in one gear, even Wimbledon Hill so I reckon I will definitely be getting a fixie in a couple of months, just trying to decide on how tall to make the gearing. As you know from yesterday I have never been one for high cadence, but I might have to learn it now
Anyone up for a separate RPCC sunday hoonfest/chaingang thread? I am not sure I can make it regularly, but if we are going to do what we talked about, we had better practice some high speed stuff andl also some leadouts....0 -

we could use the usual thread and just make it known that it is a fast run on Sundays?
Everything still aches :shock:It's the vibe of the thing.0 -

I clocked an average of 31.5 for the journey out to Box too, and that was 40km.
Very rapid Box attack, despite a few cars in the way at the start. New PB, 6:34.
Average from Phips' stats for whole ride (presumably excluding home to park and back legs) looks like 32.7. Something to aim for. Did you go Epsom roundabouts?
Well done Mark on your PB. Without the cars under 6:30? Anyway, you've set my new target!
And well done James on your PB. Hope to ride with you some time this year!
All I managed yesterday, due to socials, was 44km on my commute bike with the missus!0 -
Great CCC on Sat. Thanks to everyone.
