Great question for Emma Pooley on Eurosport - "did you frequent him (Cavendish) in Beijing"

"No, we stayed in our rooms to avoid getting ill"

Split in the pack at the end - Wiggins lost 15 seconds and gone down the GC list :(
  • Levi and Menchov also lost 15 seconds.

Along with Karpets, Menchov, Leipheimer... maybe they fell asleep. Or maybe because their directeurs weren't in their ear reminding them what to do.

I think the most coverage he got was when he crashed!! LMAO
  • Boonen finished 94th. I bet his Quick Step mates are happy.

Roche not a fan of Cav.
Suspect he didn't enjoy Cav's victory celebration of cleaning his shades. Roche wrote a while ago that he thought the increase in popularity of eyewear in the 80s was detrimental to the 'spectacle' of cycling as it stopped fanss being able to see the suffering in riders' eyes.

Was it that little crash that caused the split?
    In which case..............

Thought he wasn't bothered about the green jersey....so what was that all about with the green sunglasses then :)

Well done to Cav, but the most exciting thing today was that shot of the snails going across the road.

They've given Trussov +15" as well, so they must have judged the split happened before the crash.

Roche now tipping Thor for tomorrow over Cav. For no apparent reason.
  • no earthly way they got caught out on such an easy slow stage.
there was a crash, they eased up. they have to fix this.

There was one day before where the first results showed a split which then got amended. They did that quite quickly though so maybe this one will stand.

And why would they have to fix it?

    No earthly way????

I assume by your pronouncements you are or were in the very recent past a PRO Rider and never made a mistake or had a lapse of judgement?[/i]

He was saying that Cavs confidence wouldnt be making him any friends in the peleoton and that some measured humility would serve him well. Personally i can see what he means which is one of the reasons I love Cavs interviews. :)

There's a report coming out of France that Contador attacked Leipheimer, who lost the wheel and caused the split in the peloton.
Obviously, since the guy is Spanish and doesn't speak English properly, so he has no honour.

Easing the bunch up in the final km?
Maybe the French will introduce that one.
Should do wonders for rider's safety!
