@cjcp not entirely tongue in cheek I think that LA can dig deeper then AC especially if he is riding after bertie.

:) There's definitely that balls-out grit, but I think he'll be riding before AC come the final TT. I don't expect I'll be doing much work tomorrow afternoon.

Agreed if Contador is say 30sec by the TT then I think Its done and dusted. If the lead is say 5 sec game on :)

Yeah, ideally, we'd have Leipheimer and Kloden (and hopefully someone from another team) right in the mix too; a bit like AC, Evans and Leipheimer in 2007.

I'm just saying, I'm just saying! You know, what with Friere being a *cough* multiple World Champ *cough* and *cough* 2008 Green Jersey winner *cough* and all. :)

I know :D Still, best Freire has managed so far is a 9th yesterday. Ok, maybe got blocked behind that crash on stage 2 and missed the cut on stage 3 but should have been up there yesterday. Definitely the best climber of the sprinters, though. Got over the Tourmalet with the front group last year when Valverde and Cunego had been dropped

It's because it's an uphill-ish finish today (I think) that I opted for him. So, no real valid reason at all then. :)

EDIT: as in, uphill ain't a mountain, and what not. Hence no valid reason. I'll stop now. Maybe do some work or something.

1.6km @ 3% with a 7% stretch I read somewhere. Freire's a good pick. Will be interesting to see how Cav goes uphill after a busy few days. Did it in MSR but a week into the tour? We'll see.

Do you mean the bit about Contador and the roads needing tarmacing?

That's interesting, I'm obviously a much more cynical and bitter person than you others - I read that as 'Contador was going so slowly the explanation can only be that the road surface was rubbish in those bits'.

    No no no:

"And they might need to repair the pavement on the sections where Alberto was pulling."

Suggests that AC was "Tearing up the tarmac." It's a compliment!

Very true. Was gutted when he crashed in the finale of Paris-Roubaix this year...

have been amazed how glued ive been to it, i always saw it as boring but watching this year realising the tactics and excitement.

even tried today to ride out of the saddle on the drops as they make it look so easy, luckily i was on a quite road as wobbled all over the place lol

Hell of a ride by Dave Millar! Yelled myself silly urging him towards the finish line.

Heartbreaking ending for DM but awesome final km and sprint!

BTW - Ben Stiller - ugliest podium girl ever?

I haven't seen today's highlights yet, but, when he was on a few days ago, he looked weird.

    Can't wait for tomorrow!

AC in yellow tomorrow evening.
