An absolute idiot taps Di Luca's arm and he reacts with a swing of his arm and a killer glare.

Quite possibly. Don't forget he hasn't ridden a Grand Tour for two years, that makes a difference to the legs, so he still has a margin to improve, if the Giro doesn't work out he'll be stronger later in the year.

Di Luca's drugs are obviously helping him out a lot then.

Suspect that's not enough for Menchov, and nowhere for Leipheimer to make up time.

Yep Di Luca is definitely doping. See that, 1.54 down, 6th place. A clear sign if ever there was one.

Still he is probably the coolest in the peloton:

It'll be interesting. There's still a couple of seconds in the final Rome TT. Extra incentive for Rabobank and Astana to let break-aways go so Di Luca can't get his bonus seconds at finishes. Very interesting situation, could see LPR keep leading the pack even though Menchov is in pink....

Great result for the neutrals............if there are any.
Di Luca and Pellizotti like cobras, waiting to strike against the man in orange.
Rabo will have their work cut out.
Leipheimer will have to go "out of character" and de-suck, to go on the attack; still a major threat.
Basso and Sastre, lurking in the shadows!

Eyeballs out, on the rivet from Saturday, for the whole week.
