Yeah, bit too much for me; he's got a gap of a month's riding on me, and I've got no sportives formally booked up now; I've yet to enter the Tour of the Black Mountains. I'm not sure one or two extra laps of RP is going to bridge that gap. :)

What happened to Rich's sportive thread actually?

The weathers not looking good but I have to make the most of it as i'm off the bike tomorrow  i'm doing an intro day at the new job :D

I have 3 sportives in the next 3 months and 1 poss 2 mega rides there after then it's back to just commuting for me :(

We need to keep an eye on G66 as he's doing the London 2 Paris which will give him a MASSHOOF jump up the league.

Wish me luck folks i'm off into the wind

Annoyingly I discovered I'd overestimated by 31 miles my yearly total so have reduced it accordingly. Can everyone access google spreadsheet, btw, or do you need to be registered?

I don't have a computer, so today I used string, and the map to work out my basic commute is 5 miles each way. I do it twice a day, so 100 miles for week days. Go me! Also the second job adds.. um... 16 miles.

Looking up the list, this looks pretty bad, so I'll start my own, secret, spreadsheet.

ITBoffin, when you do 79 miles (or similar) how often do you have to stop for the toilet? (I'm just wondering about hydration and that)

Saturday was a rest day, I ran around on Kinder Scout, and a sprint up South Head at the end.

My legs hurt after that but not cycling muscles.

I do running a couple times a week, but not massive amounts. How high are those hills?* I go up Calton Hill in edinburgh (not very high at all) and get photo'd be large amounts of tourists every time.

*I saw a fell runner once near kinlochleven. She had those 1000 yard eyes, but she could shift!

Only usually need one "country wee" so long as I drink half to one 750ml bottle per hour depending on the temp. I've tried more and less but that works for me.

Mind you I go 3-4 time before I leave the house

South Head is about 40m higher than the surroundings, so it was a short quick sprint at the end:

    http://www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=kinder ... 20SK23%206

EDIT: Paste the whole of that in, not just the bit that appears as a hyperlink, to see South Head and kinder on the same OS map.

    Kinder is flat, but boggy.

I was practicing my navigation, by aiming for features in the middle of nowhere.

(there atre a lot of peat hags, so is hard to see very far whilst in the centre of the plateau, weven though the visibility was excellent).

Cobblers. Popped a spoke on the way home tonight so did 10 miles with a wobbly wheel fouling the rear brakes on both sides, and the trusty v old laptop-come-web server under the stairs has finally died, so no commute tomorrow and no means of recording them. Not properly anyway. Grumble grumble more expense...

Only 149 miles this week so unlikely to make much impact on the podium. Next week I'm hoping for a full week and have a 100 mile sportive on Sunday, so looking for another 250 mile week... :)

This week was a writeoff due to awful weather

However I upped my game today and got my first ever 50 miler done, next week I start the commute to the new job and I aim for the first ever 100 mile week

Now I am a bit broken, you know that opening scene in Rocky 5. Rocky is in the locker room after fighting the Russian, he tells Adrian something is broken inside.

    Thats me!

PS Top thread ITB, can you edit your first post to include the link to the spreadsheet, Ta!

Now that I have my new steed, I've been able to put the computer back on a bike and can start counting the km's again.
It's been a bit of a faffing about trying to work out the numbers based on GPS traces and bikely routes for the past fortnight. I have a comp reading from the middle of January thats going to have to do for years start too. Should be easier from now on.

Ah, the country wee. Not heard that for a while! 8) Is anyone hardcore enough to do the pull-up-the-shorts-leg-and-not-even-stop?

Jimmypippa, don't you fall in the peat hags that way? Looks nice though! I got an Osprey Talon 5.5 for my b-day, it is the bee's knees for taking the right amount of stuff for a decent run. 8)
