Ah yep that was me :)

My other bike is a 5 as you may have guessed. They are pricey (mine was even more so as it wasn't off the peg but we did have a few donor bits) but in my eyes worth every penny - my confidence and ability has increased so much since having that baby to throw about :D

I can make it to the Duke for about 7.15 of an evening as have to get home to pick stuff up (from Brum) if you fancy a Weds meet. Moggy that doesn't mean I'll never be out on a Thurs again but it does clash with other stuff.....

Yep that sounds good, Weds are easier for me, no rushing about....but I would be able to do the odd Thursday, it will vary from week to week. ;-)

I will have to add the 5 to my list of rides...I did ride one about 4 or 5 years ago, but I guess nearly all bikes have gone up in price...just the way it is...

What's race co like in Stourbridge, any good ?

Up for Cannock to try out the new trails, but not until I've got a bike with forks on the front so 2weeks ish+.

HT or FS Lap ?? I like the £1500 HT lacquered bare Alu I guess very shiney in Worcester Specialist Cycles, been tempted big time a few time.

Race Co, good prices, good chap, but useless at ordering anything so any issues HASSLE the hell out of him.

I'll see how I get on, with just a HT if I need a FS still tempted by the Boardman £1000 FS damn good spec for the money and looks nice welds wise to.

Oranges are always expensive a C.Dale like Chris's is virtually the same bike without the made in the UK price tag, the Orange advantage is 1 of the few 130mm bikes that do a size 14".

    Who's out tomorrow ??

Paul race co is ok, as Dyl Said, the owner is a Paul, nice chap really generous he'll do you the best deal he can. He's not stupid he knows the internet prices so will match or beat in most cases. Not too hot on the mechanicing side though, had a few probs with my bike and they never got sorted by them, they even forgot a spacer off a new HT2 b i had fitted last week.

In the area, Worcester Specialist is my #1 then Race Co wouldn't touch any others ( not used Pearce ) rest are all to pushy sales wide for my likings.

But Halfords support my price range :)

Cheers, I am going to Pearce cycles first as they have given me excellent first class service over the years, to be honest I wouldn't use anyone else for repairs/upgrades.

I know they can be a bit expensive on kit etc, but I am a believer in supporting local business and they really do know there stuff !

I will pop into worcs cycles too, but the only thing I would buy from Halfrauds is a bike magazine.

I do all my own DIY and you really can't beat the Halfords bikes for VFM, there just generic components slapped onto there own frame which is made by Merida like most of the frames out there so no real down side.

    10.61 miles last night!

About hour and 10 mins actual riding time! 1:30 stopped time, waiting for Dylan, fixing bikes etc. Take off the three bears Dyl and id say you did 9.5 miles.

That all sounds very domesticated Chris.

Would kill to not have to get up at 6am. 9.45 what a luxury!

Will forgive you for losing us Sunday Dylan as you did look after us most of the time.

Good point, too much praise for any man & it goes straight to their heads. We can't give him too much praise anyway, he did lose all four girlies after all!

Sounds like you've been over doing it a bit, I think it's time for a rest, the are plenty of days to play.

Still doing Cannock, looking forward to it as haven't been there for a couple of years so Im guessing it's changed a bit. Gonna try & get at least a couple of laps in to make up for not being able to go Sunday. Gotta do crappy DIY & gardening. :-(

Any idea what conditions will be like over there? Just wondering whether to stick the mudguards back on!

Would anyone mind giving me their number (PM), just in case I get lost or something on the way tomorrow?

Also, SPDs...I've only had them for a week or two, and have been doing fairly tame local rides, is there anything particularly technical? In which case I'd probably put the flats back on. I reckon I could do 95% of the Monkey at Cannock on SPDs without any problems if that helps.

Apart from that,I'll see you tomorrow :)

    Hi Everyone,

I've had three bikes stolen from my shed last night. I've put the details of the bike in the stolen bikes section with an email for information but as you're all local people could you keep your eyes open for me.

    Cheers,

Chez, I've got a unused 14" Carrera Vulcan in the cellar you can borrow for as long as you want, it's Rigid, V Brakes and needs a new rear mech as I borrowed it ages back, sucks for sure.

I got a bit worried when everyone started following you and heading home, wasn't enough for a nice sunday!!

    See you Tuesday OLD Ladies!!

Cheers guys, was a great days riding, and I got back in plenty of time for the party! We did 17 miles according to my computer. I'm sure I'll be along again and I'll try to bring some of the HOMBRES with me too.

If there's anything interesting in the videos (I just caught Dyl's fall at the gate!) then I'll do some editing and upload them.

Me screwing up the gate, going yeah I'll ride that, OHHH NO wrong angle doh!! Should be worth seeing to see where i ballsed it :)

Must admit for the first time I was missing my FSer tonight, so I've spend the last few hours putting the FSer back together, servicing the forks, tweaking the ride position to feel more like the Rigid and hopefully solving the CREAKING Issue, although I'll believe that when I see it, FSer for Tuesday :)

Wales should be okay as long as I'm not leading a team in N.Wales mountaineering which is entirely weather based ( good only, wussy mates ), you think your worried following me around a forest :)
