Let us know what time you want to be back for and we'll drop you back at the car and carry on riding if needs be.

I'd probably have to be back at the car for 3ish. So leaving at 11 for 4 hours riding would be fine. You could always just point me in the right direction, I'm sure I'd get back!

Cheers, I'm in Solihull, so it looks like an hours drive. Probably a bit much for an evening.

I'll check out the FB group later on, I may or may not be at work at the moment

How long does the ride tend to be, and what kind of distance?

Usually 2 - 3 hours, with distance often around 15 miles, give or take a few.... depends on the group :-)

Just looked back a few posts and noticed this, seems right up my street. Done ftd/monkey at cannock last wednesday with a pal of mine, just over 14mile took us 3hrs start to finish but that was a nice steady pace with a few stops for a chat along the way.

Its a bit far for me to travel, but I would be up for this as I would like to do the monkey trail.

What road is the visitor centre on/off ? Or where is the duke pub that you meet at ?

Its on the main A456 between Bewdley and Cleobury Mortimer.

Google maps on postcode DY14 9XH for the Duke William pub, the VC is just over the road from the pub.

I only walk down that steep rocky bit which goes to the fire road, some people have sense!!

Slimey on Sunday, sticky mud don't think it's rained since, so expect really claggy horrible stuff, unless it's dried out enough ??

Been a while but thought i would lurk back here now the wyre is rideable again, prob cant make this week as got a ride planned.

    Chris,

Monkey takes a good 2hr to do, especially at night, is 15ml and has 400m+ of climbing so is hard work, wouldnt want to do much more as a night ride. As the start carpark is shut, starting from Marquis you can cut a few dull bits out and keep it to about 12ml and 1.30 which is about right.

Out this thurs (already planned), and Might be riding this sunday day if anyones interested, if not def out again next week

Link to the facebook group would be appreciated

I'm up for Cannock one night, Fri ok with me. Means I get a lie in and rest on the Sat! Agree though that the full FTD and Monkey trail combined is enough for an evening ride - it is hard work! Cannock has finally joined the world of proper red trails.

Anyone planning on riding next WEDS evening - can't do this week at all now :(

I would be up for the dog/monkey, not a great fan of the FTD but I have not done the monkey yet...but hopefully with the two joined it will be worth the visit! :-)

missgroover - WEDS evenings are good for me as I cant do Thursday's.

This week you mean. weather permitting! Im always up for a friday jaunt, tend to get wasted on the cinema or a pizza and DVD these days. Very few night ride on a friday so you get the trails to yourself! And its light till after 9 now! Down FOD all weekend YH'ing with my Scouts so wont be out at all this weekend!

Mounty, you'll like the monkey, although some of the tight up switch-back take you by surprise the first time as they are very tight, especially on my long full susser.

I think so?? Were you the girl on the re-sprayed Kona HT? It was on that Wed night long Wyre ride a few weeks back...

I have to admit I have always wanted an orange 5, a mate of mine bought one many years ago......but I cant believe how expensive they are now, 2.5k for the pro ?
