Nice night tonight, so I'm off out for a 30miler ( canal + river then forest so easy miles ), yesterday turned into a bike fettling then limping home when I snapped a I-drive bolt LOL

Promised to go swimming tomorrow and riding Thursday with another group!!

    Enjoy!!

I'm back from my adventures in Wales. Had a great time and thank you to all who joined me. My bike is at the LBS being serviced and I broke a spoke yesterday afternoon :( Doubt I'll have the bike back by the weekend so will be in touch when I'm up and peddling again. :D

Hello......I was due to be on holiday in Scotland Sat 5th Sept until Sat 12th Sept, this has now been cancelled.....

I am still taking the week off, so if anyone is around for a ride or would be interested in heading off to a MTB centre or something, then give me a shout.....cheers.

Mounty, im also in exactly the same situation as you. Now i got someone to ride with Yippee! Was planning on doing the Kill the Bill DH race than stay and do some XC up there but my mate who i was going with bust his foot riding trails (jumps).

Let me know what and where you fancy!

Moggy... I will be available anytime from Monday 7th Sept until Friday 11th, doing some walking on Sat/Sun....... so perhaps we could sort something out a bit nearer the time....I will be able to ride as much as the legs can take... :D

Turvey ...no worries mate, I can always pick you up...if you are around during the above dates...

Cheers guys, I didn't like the idea of doing Scotland on my own, hence why I cancelled the trip.....I dont mind where, as long as I am riding...

Do CyB or something if you don't mind driving mate, work out when nearer the time.

Moggy Who's bust there foot ?? Not Nigel again ??

Dan smith, i went up scotland with him in June for the NPS DH.

Nigels out on sunday at Cwmcarn doing the DH, first time he has been on a bike for a while!

Would like to do Nant yr Arian and Maybe one of the Machynlleth trails, Climach-X maybe? NyA is brilliant, not overly technical, and only one really nasty up!

Don't think I know him, but no doubt Nigel will break something on sunday!!

Ordered a Conti Race King 2.2 steel cheapo and looks to be a fast roller should be fun in the mud to :)

I did Nant yr Arian last October, we watched the feeding of the red kites.....

I enjoyed riding it, apart from something called the leg burner I think...it was a very long climb on a boring fireroad.... :o

Would be good to do it again though

The climb out of the car park goes on for EVER doesn't it

Yeah it does, but its not as bad as the leg burner.......thats a nasty one ! :(

I've done 3 laps of that in 1 day, I switched off for no.2 and no.3 thankfully.

Quickest place to drive to, but CyB is still my Fav.

We did everything apart from the double track over the moors, the boring bit on the conti trail. Its not too bad out of the car park as it turns left onto some single track after less than 5 mins. The leg burner isnt too steep so its just a case of getting a rhythm on.

The Beast it is then Dyl?

I have to admit I do like CYB, I have not done it for a couple of years and I would like to visit it again... :D

Not too sure if CyB was as good last time they've changed it around alot, but maybe I just did 1 of the lesser trails.

Last time I'm washing my bike, my rear hub seized tonight, dragged it back into life and limped home with it screaming at me and making all kinds of I've got no bearings which are round noises, every time I was my bike bits break!!

Does explain why it felt so slow the other day though, was't the tyre it was the hub part seized LOL

Mavic Crossride to the rescue till I can afford a new hub!! :(

Moggy, I think we did the Conti Trail last, heads kinda out into the middle of no where, with 1 really steep climb and a cafe in someones house or something and a short cut at that point which we used to.

I was just following 1/2 asleep after a long drive up there!!

Sounds right, everyt type of flapjack you could need there!

I got a wheel you could borrow if you need something a bit stronger than the crossride!

Muddypuddle has said that she would be up for a trip to CYB, but it would have to be on the Tuesday or Wednesday of that week.....if that would fit in with you guys ?? :D

Wednesday would be best, but can move things around, if there is a lift available.

Got to sort a car out, riding to the forest is getting annoying, hence faster rolling rear tyre!!

Dylan, I can give you a lift, no worries mate. The bikes will have to go in the car though.

Just think of all that extra mileage and fitness you will get riding to the forest without the car...

Thanks dude owe you 50% petrol :)

Add in road biking to mates and clients and even visiting mate in Hereford, 72miles and huge hills you'd think I'm getting fitter.

Add in the extra resistance training from a part seized rear hub with a bent axle I suspect and I should be flying around :)
